I have Adobe Photoshop CS3 and The Gimp and I can make some decent enough textures, but I want to know how to make some of the textures for this 3D model I made. The 3D model I traced from this picture:. Can someone please tell me how to make the textures for the UV map (like the grip of the handle that's shaped like a bunch of small diamonds, and the smooth metal of the gun). I'd appreciate it if anyone shares this advice . (I'm not completely new to photoshop, but I'm still kind of a rookie at it so I need the help ^^.

A texture is 2D but this area is for 2D programs/games. You want 3 Dimensional Chat. The people that post there are the best of the best at texture making.

Oh... ok ^^. So just let me get this straight, the 3D area is for sprites and 2D games, not textures? OK .

You mean 2D area is for sprites and 2D games not textures. Yes.
