Lol.

Hey All. Below is a download of my Topdown Shooter(Think Alien Syndrome). If you'd be so kind, please play it(its less than 1 Mb to download) and then suggest some ideas for the enemies AI. They've got basic "follow the leader" AI for now though. Heres a list of features so far...

Well, at the time of this post, the screenshot isn't showing up. BTW, why is the folder called "lol", and the executable called "Top down shooter"? It sounds like you need to come up with a name. Aha, it's made in DBC! Nice! That's what I use! May I suggest you use Resource Hacker to change the icon? The grey cube is rather generic. OK, I'm about to play... The moment of truth...

EDIT: o_O Honestly, that was hilarious. It was like a top-down version of Metroid with what looked to be Master Chief. However, the enemies moved so fast I had to turn it off out of annoyance and frustration, though surprisingly I never died. Suggestions:

-Slow the enemies way down or give the player less health.
-Use the Pythagorean Theorem for enemy movement
-Make it so you can die.
-Use images for the menu. (Mouse, Backdrop, Title)
-Use a better color or texture for the floor. Why pink?

Resource Hacker is a program to edit the contents of binary files you might not otherwise have access to from the compiler. In other words, it lets you change stuff like the icon and mouse cursor.

The Pythagorean Theorem is a kind of 2d distance formula- oh whoops I guess you shouldn't use that. Well, just try to find some way for the enemies to head towards your exact location so they slide along the walls instead of sticking. Also, you might want to consider having them face in the direction they're moving so you see more than just their back, although I'm not sure if they follow the same rules as the player.

Yeah, im using a distance Calculation for the AI......
