Sure, you could pay for it again, or you could read the sticky's.

Read the last post here. It should explain how to get your FPSC back to the full version.

Explaining how to fix this really should be its own sticky. These threads are seriously driving me crazy. I rarely come to the FPSC forums but when I do, someone is asking this question.

Not trying to sound rude, but it's getting annoying.

Ok, that is weird but make sure you are simply using the save function and thereby overwriting the existing data file.

If that doesn't work you might need to explain in more details how it goes wrong.

Are you sure that's the right path? "THEGAMECREATORS"?

Shouldn't it be... "F:\Program Files\The Game Creators\FPS Creator"?

UAC does not allow you to overwrite in that directory
save it to your desktop then cut and paste it.

Well, you should turn off UAC, Which has also been mentioned to be required to do to have FPSC work.

In case he doesn't know how/ doesn't feel like looking it up, here's how to turn UAC off: Go to Control Panel in the Start menu. Click on User Accounts and Family Safety. Click on Turn User Account Control on or off. Uncheck the box. Go back, make the changes to the file, and save.

Then Lee should finally fix it, how many people do you think get turned off making games with FPSC when they see this and havn't gone onto the forums yet? There goes the community.

Unhelpful Titles

Please do not simply write "Noob Question", "I am a newb", "One Noobie Question", "A question", "Please help", "This isn't working" or anything similar as the title of your post. We have a search facility, and meaningless titles do not help others find answers to their questions. It will also help you to get quicker responses if people have an idea of your thread content.

I agree, but when people see this they come straight to the forums. If it was its own sticky people wouldn't have to answer this freaking question every thirty seconds.

Its so easy to fix too it does this in X10 also after some updates and there is a box at the start of FPSC that asks you to add it back in its that easy.

I don't think you should disable UAC, it's intended as a security feature and disabling it is completely unnecessary. All you have to do is alter permissions on the directory that FPSC is installed in, and this doesn't take a lot of effort to do.

@Benjamin: I personally see no point in UAC in any ways, and I've had no problems from disabling it.

hahayha it was not that easy because i could not overwrite the file in anyway i finaly just reinstalled and the forum should be open to anyone dont write if you dont want too

what ever happened to if you have nothing nice to say dont say anything at all

people with a lot of experiance learned by asking question i have asked a few stupid questions but hey i had nowhere else to turn

it is true now that i think of it the subject should be the basic problem so others like me wont have to spend an hour searching the forum then finaly give up and just post hopping for an awnser.

thanks everyone that tryed to help you did get me on the right track

Because sometimes saying something not-nice is the only way to get the message across.

To be honest TGC should try to fix this in the first place, i know it's not that big of a bug and easily fixable, but still, their customers should not have to keep coming back because they have a problem with a buggy update. I don't know if it's something that can't be helped, but i hope they can still get it fixed

Simply what I do is save a back-up copy of the userdetails.ini file, then when upgrading just copy and replace the one for the upgrade, and poof everything is in working order. .

Simple and effective solution. Though I've never had the problem, I think I'll do it now.
