hEY!





I cannot get this to normal mapp onto the lower poly version in maya??

could i please post the models for someone to normal map them together and tell me how you did it please?
also does it matter if it is not textured yet and not unwarpped??

any help would be great thanks

You will have to unwrap it probably so you can apply the bumps to the exact spot,I cant tell you anything else as im not a Maya user.

I used MAYA in college, but I haven't used it since..so I can't help you there.

You will have to unwrap it unless MAYA will auto unwrap it, though that never turns out very well in my opinion. In TS, there's function to do this. I know MAX has this as well. It's basically overlapping the models so they occupy the same space then activating the normal map function. I bet there's a function with MAYA, I'd check your manual, it should have it listed with how to use it.
