This may seem kinda nooby or it may not. My guess is that it's probably the former. I can't figure out how to take a big room that uses that same segment and put a wall down the middle. There doesn't seem to be any wall-only segments and every attempt to separate the rooms ends up with them merging together. I can't just put a space in between the rooms because I want one to have a window that looks out onto the other. What to I do?

Select the segment you want to place and press M on your keyboard to switch to wall placing mode Press F to place floors only.

You have that functions in the upper right half of your toolbar at the top also. But learning shortcuts isn't that bad either
