Hey all , ive started work on a battle rifle weapon for fpsc.

Heres a work in progress:



The back of the rifle wont be shown ingame, like in halo 2

However i need your help,



There are no faces, how do i create them?,

So you use 3dsmax and you want to extrude it in? Select the four lines surrounding the hole in edge mode and select the move tool,then hold shift and move inside,that will create new faces.Thats the base of modelling.

You do that? Just go face mode, select a face and extrude. Quickers.

Or do it like I said,by hand.Allows you to do more.

Sorry for sounding ignorant, but how?

I tried, here's some screens.

Now, I tried your way, and it extruded aroun the face, like so;

Then moved the centre face up, like so;


Then, I tried my way, only extruding the one selected face;


Then extruded up here again;


Now, your way; 4 clicks plus one press of the shift button, then another two clicks. My way; 2 clicks, and that's that.

Yeah, you can always change the individual verts and polys after extrusion anyway.
