I'm trying to replace the texture on the unarmed hands but it doesn't work. I've replace every texture file that could possibly be related and it doesn't work. It always uses the default texture. I've read the official thread but it's unclear to me. Any help?

If you are using an FPSC update (1.12+), be sure you delete the HUD.DBO file after you make any change.

You followed this thread, otherwise?

Yep thats the thread I followed. Now that you mentioned the update, I am actually using v1.09 because my computer doesn't seem to like anything higher than that. As said, I replaced the .dds files with the new ones and I can't find a reason for it not working. I even moved the old textures onto a flash drive and deleted them from my computer. I don't even know where fpsc is getting them form now.

It's getting them from the .DBO file. As EAI said, delete the HUD.DBO file, or use FPSC Cleaner to delete all .DBO and .BIN files. Your changes will not show up until you do.

Each time you test a map, FPSC creates a .dbo for the entities in the level. These .dbo files have the same name as the entity and will be in the same folder with that entity. They are used to store all the information about that entity. Because the .dbo files are created the first time the entity is used, they always remember the original settings.

If your version of FPSC has the FPSCreatorCleaner.exe file included in the root directory, use that to clean them all.

No luck. Nothing changes. I'm using v1.09 just in case that make any difference.

1.09 doesn't generate any DBOs.

Show me a screenshot of the gamecore directory you are working in.

You should not be replacing any .DDS files because the hands are .jpg format. You need to rename the .jpg as well once you have copied into the weapon gamecore directory.

Gamecore directory? Uh oh... I was changing stuff in the entity bank.

...That would do it. Ok, this is embarrassing. I just wasted your time massively. I put the picture into gamecore and it works fine. I must have read to fast and missed the directory and put it where I assumed it would go.

I'm so sorry I wasted your time like that Errant and Xplosys. next time I'll read more carefully.

haha No problem. It's a common misunderstanding about where HUD assets reside.
