Hi all,

I've decided to start a new pack for FPSC X9.

The pack will have two parts:

Toy/Doll Factory

and

Museum.

I'm starting the Toy/Doll Factory part here. Each model will have a normal and grunge version of the same texture, to suit everyones needs.
As for the look, I have had a lot of influences. I want the final look to be as normal as not, I mean, it looks normal, but it's strange all the same. I've had influences from old pictures and recent games.

I've created Mr. Walter Toys and Dolls Factory as a theme for the pack.
And here it is, a WIP of Mr. Walter Standard Version.

EDIT: I'm rebuilding Mister Walter. Don't like the final result that much.

Well, I've decided to start from scratch, as I've had only made one model.

I'm now giving more detail and using more reference photos. Now I'm happy on how it is turning. This is the "Baby Walter Doll".

Pretty cool, will they be animated like the cute but freaky Condemned dolls?

Thanks CG.

I can't animate, so I'm guessing no lol. But I'll make grunge versions of it to go with a bizarre, dark and freak show ambience.

Thanks! I'm really trying hard this time!

Another screen, updated.
As for the eyes, I'll make different versions of them, not only concerning colour, but position and such.

Baby Walter Final Version V1.

I'm pretty happy on how it turned out!
After all models are done I'll be working on texture variations.

Wow, it looks kinda freaky!

You should try grunging it up, like this:

(Sorry I couldn't get a better shot)

But it would look awesome, kinda like Chucky...

If I was ever given the opportunity to remove all the bad from the world, I wouldn't, because for there to be heroism, compassion and all that is good, there must also be all that is bad.

Thanks CG! I'm "grunging" the texture right now!

The polycount is not that high, I'm still cleaning the model. Besides, in game one will use lots of doll boxes, which only contain 1/4 of the doll model. But have a look of lots of them ingame using FPSC with BM:

No problem, really.

Yes, it's Condemned 2.

Take a look at my grunge version of the texture, still a WIP:

NOt nagging, but what is it? for FPSC you would have to keep it under 400 polys for a static model

That depends obviously of which type of models you use and how many. And besides, have you used Blue Mod? It can take much more polys in game without the slightest slowdown. And that means higher polycounts and smoother models.

I agree With you that it depends. Obviously important models that the character is always going to be looking at should look smooth and as realistic as possible. However its just good practice to keep game models as low poly as possible. No point of pushing the engine to its max on things the player isn't going to notice.

Sure, I agree too. And as I said before, the full doll as you see it here wouldn't be as much as used as the boxed version, which uses a fraction of the polys.

It's up to the level builder really.
And i'm cleaning the final model to be as smooth and low poly as possible.

I'm making a new version of the model, extreme low poly. The Pack will include both models, and so one can use the high poly model when close to the player and the low poly when it's far.

Sounds like a good idea! Give the builder the choice of both! Goodluck with it bro!

Well, I've finished the low poly version.

It only shares legs, body and hands with the original model, but i'll probably make an even low poly version of the hands.

Mixed models. The first ones are hi poly, the ones on the back low poly.

Thanks everyone for the comments!

So for now, I've got 2 models, 2 variants:

Baby Walter Low Poly "Clean" Version and "Grunge" Version
Baby Walter High Poly "Clean" Version and "Grunge" Version

Looks good mate, could you tell me what the framerate is without the doll, and one with 1 low poly doll?

It's exactly the same, while using Blue Mod. And probably with vanilla fpsc too. But I'll try later.

Thanks.

To be honest i doubt you will see a diference in framrate in vanilla FPSC. The lag usually is due to characters and the scripting used with them. These look great dude!

Thanks.

I'm now preparing the boxed versions with variants. I've yet to decide if I'll use shaders or not. I have one which is based in the bumpcubereflectalpha, but that's only reflection and shiny surface effect. I'm going to try it in the dolls, and probably use in the boxes too, If I decide to use it lol.

If I decide to use it, I can't release it with the pack, but I'll give instructions on how to mod the default shader to suit one needs.
