Already I can see some very high quality games coming out of this competition and I don't doubt that by the end we'll have topped anything currently made in DB(P)!

Don't think were gonna see many teams either for this compo either my biggest problem apart from being a noob and not such a great coder is the graphics. :s

The same goes for me, my modelling isn't exactly up to scratch either... well, at least we'll have one decent model that will probably stand out like a sore thumb.

lol, i can't beleive i was flamed for asking a question.

Quote: "I'm not saying that makes ATI better than nVidia. But you really have to question why Microsoft are switching from nV to ATI chipsets for xbox2??"

Ok read the quote guys. Firstly i'm saying that i'm not trying to be clever or trying to make ATI out to be better mf's. Then i'm asking why Microsoft are switching over. There was no need to flame a normal sensible question.

Didn't i say earlier that FX chips don't run at good speeds?? then you basically slated me for it?.

OK enough with the graphics card talk, it's a "FREE" computer, and your quibbling the specifications? Try and win it first then you can put whatever graphics card you like in it.

The main quibble comes from Mr. Raven esq. who in all his time in DB has never written anything anyway so wont win and who also has an annual income greater than most African nations GNP so is more than capable of putting in whatever graphics card he likes should he win.

Therefor the argument is moot.

Is there any restriction on the amount of times you can use the alien model(and can you change skins??).

"I'll be at the starting line, but may not reach the finish"

Lol yeah me too. Now that I have the Alien model in my position I'm pretty darn excited as I have loads of ideas (Although I've already completely retextured it and edited the animations

Trouble is my oimagination is running away with a fantstic project I'll probably never finish on time

But still, I've got a nice graphical demo out of it already

The file size limit of the competition is
15 megabytes compressed.

Yeah, I've abandoned my original idea because of rule 11, but I have another idea in the works already which should be fun. I've managed to tone it back a lot, too. For the last competition I got too ambitious and then didn't end up even coming close to finishing in time. This time I have a more realistic idea of what I need to do.
