How do you edit textures for segments OR entities?
Can u use DirectX SDK texture tool? If so how?

If not, what can u use?

you can open them in PAINT if you have to

I like to use Paint.NET

It is free and easy to use and can handle DDS files for FPSC X10.

You can also fo to their forums to download cool user created plug-ins for various effects. (free)

Or GIMP. I've never tried Paint.NET. You'll need a .dds plugin though.

or if you have photoshop there is a nvidia plugin that allows the use of .DDS files
