Why do you guys have to keep changing the forum?
Its even worse than it was before.
Just install VBB, UBB or PhPBB and then leave it well alone!

When the forum got changed, i can no longer log into that account. But still i get:
Warning: Sorry but that Forum Name is already being used. Please enter something different

Its more of a guest book than a forum. The only time i have ever come across a forum similar to the design of this one is delphipages.com(but that one works well)

When the forum got changed, i can no longer log into that account. But still i get:

And the difference between a forum where new messages appear on the page one after the other and PHPBB, YaBB, etc is what exactly? There is one feature missing (new posts being highlighted) but otherwise name me one thing PHPBB has that is essential to a forum working that you can't find here?

Also - in your signature. I kept ALL of the old user accounts. You're supposd to login with the email address you registered with last time. Had you done this you would have retained your post count and old forum name. As it happens all you've done is sign-up again, the old forum name is locked to your old account so of course you can't use it.

Cheers,

Rich

Why pay for a forum when you've got an already made functional one right here?

Yeah they will, just sorting out some minor niggles (edit date, etc) and I'll get onto them. Want to test properly here first so won't go live until tomorrow, but will start coding today.

Cheers,

Rich

Sorry i didn't realise you had coded the forum yourself. I wasn't trying to be mean or anything of that nature. I tried to log in using my email address but for some reason it wouldn't let me. So i assumed the account had been deleted and tried to re-register the same details. If you can find the old account just delete it to clean up. An i was reffering to Sub-Forums when i mentioned all the forum software. That way questions dont get lumped into one but are seperated. Like say an effects forum. a world forum. A maths forum. e.t.c.

I know it sounds like i'm complaining, i didn't mean for it to come across that way. I'm just glad there is a forum where people like me can get help.

When the forum got changed, i can no longer log into that account. But still i get:

Whats anything got to do with MacOS and winxp?

I have corrected myself after i noticed it was only the scheme that had been changed. Not that its really relevant but anyone who uses xp is a gimp. If you have to use an OS based on such a shoddy system(I really dislike xp :p) use longhorn, it may only be an alpha but its still less annoying than xp).

i don't think this is gonna be beaten for the most stupid comment of the year ... no doubt be proven wrong within the reply to this, not that i'm gonna read it.
sorry but this whole post was created on pure stupidity ...

makes you wonder how some people are even capable of dressing themselves in the morning - (and no doubt this'll also be baleted too, but i don't care this guy is an idiot in the truest sense of the word)

I really dislike XP too - in fact I'd install Win2000 before XP anyday. Personal taste though, I don't feel that strongly about XP, I feel strongly about WinME - I often have to stop myself formatting ME machines and installing 98se.

Anyhoo, not important, I just thought I'd congratulate Ermes on a great post - totally sums it up mate

In other words, what more do you need!

There's always a weird period when the forum changes, until folk get used to it - I like this forum and I'm stunned that it's all hand crafted and not store bought like so many other forums. Great work Rich.

Hmm, what about my comment is incorrect. Perhaps you would care to enlighten me. I can guarentee i could flame you into the ground. Not only do i have a wide knowledge of the workings of a lot of operating systems i've been using them since the mid-80's(aswell as the net). As for calling me stupid?, this is coming from an American who can't even seem to string simple sentances together in order to make a grammatically correct post.

What about that comment makes it stupid?. Your essentially calling me an idiot without correcting my point. Let me guess, you got a comp for your birthday and you and friends learnt to code using dbpro(which although tho good, still isn't really nething to gloat about). Don't get ideas above your station simply because you assume i know less about things than you do.

Oh an for christ sakes, learn to flame. Its like listening to a baby cry for the first time.

Arius - if you want me to dig out your old forum account for you I can do that, just send me an email. I've been helping quite a few people who couldn't remember their old email addresses! and yes it's totally hand coded and I see what you mean about it being stupid if you didn't realise that the "Home" button did what it did I agree, having just one board would indeed be insane. But, we haven't.

Cheers,

Rich

The new forum works fast, TerraByte you might want to switch to opera.
It kicks ms explorer in the teeth.

Rich , why are you using 3rd party cookies for the forum?
What was wrong with using persistent or session?

While UBB and all the other cookie cutter forums are nice and easy to set up. They are not great. I like these new forums and in a while when the bugs and other problems are finished, these forums will be better.

If you dont like these, write a better forum, from scrath. Try it, Ive done it, it sucks major AS*.
