Hi all,

I added in an option tonight that lets you hide the left nav while viewing forum threads (i.e. reading a thread). Just go into your forum profile and turn on the "slim" forum mode. It also makes the text size slightly lower so you get more on-screen.

It only affects when READING a thread. Not when viewing the list of threads, so no complaining about that also make sure you refresh your browser, it uses a new CSS style which you'll need to pick up.

Cheers,

Rich

Nice idea, but turning on slim mode gives me a script error on every page. I am happy with normal mode anyway.

I don't want to turn off script debugging because I do a lot of work related web development and need to see script errors.

Ahem, if you're happy with normal then don't turn the option on

Spooky - the JS error is gone now, you can enable slim mode without it happening.

Cheers,

Rich

Well done! I prefer normal text size though, specially as I have big monitors so I will not be using slim mode!

Nice to see you squashed up main forum page as there was a hell of a lot of blank space on it and a lot of scrolling was needed.

No. It will only apply in view messages, I'm not turning it off anywhere else.

Cheers,

Rich

How about letting users set their own widths for the Author and Message columns?

Or at least a width limit on signature graphics. I use a 800x600 screen, and some of the wider sigs mean I have to horizontally scroll every thread where that person posts (I'm talking to YOU, Martin_COTN! )

Even if you could set a fixed width on the message column, a massive sig graphic would still break it - there's no avoiding that. What would be easier is if I added an option to your Forum Profile which let you either disable the display of sigs entirely or strip out any image tags embedded in them. That'd work (and be quite easy to do too).

Cheers,

Rich

Rich, I would definitely use the no-image-tags feature if you decide to add it.

Definatly add an option to strip img tags from sigs. I don't mind the text just the images.

The menu has disapeared at the side of the forum as well, makes it much easier to read.
