The 10mb limit was the hardest constraint for me in the retro competition because I too generally make my better projects at about 15mb-25mb after compression.
The soul destroying thing was seeing all the valid entries that exceeded the limit, and one of them was even placed in the results if I recollect correctly... /sigh
Oh well, can't win em all, not that winning was ever really likely when considering the standard of the last competition.
I think the standards this time will be higher.
When we released Jetpac as the first entry, it was at that time the best DBPro game released that I was aware of, we'd all had our play with it and only during the retro competition did we really start completing projects. I think up until then the only finished DBPro games where very small even by comparison to Jetpac. By the end of the competition the bar had been raised significantly.
I think now that DBPro releases are becoming more and more frequent and the standard of releases has been rising in general terms that this competition is going to have a few entries that literally blow our socks off.
I hope that one of them will be mine, failing that i'll be happy just to see what does win, because I have the feeling i'm going to be amazed.
