Model made by Zwarte, textured by Cosmic and animated by starmind. Good tutorial! Keep up the good work.

Sorry everyone who's been looking forward to this, I was working on it when a series of unfortunate events took place and pushed it to the back burner for another week. Hopefully I can get it done sometime during the week or upcoming weekend. I did try start on it but when reviewing the footage... found out that I left my mic turned off and I couldn't have that.

@Starmind, I did start off using one the models you sent me but when I got to looking at them, I realized that It was probably best I used something else to convey the actual weapon rigging that was readily available and could be applied to non-weapon items like the one of the ones you sent me later. So I imported the Colt .45 for the tutorial. Thanks anyways though, for I always enjoy seeing what people work on even if I am trying to remain in the shadow to surprise everyone with a wonderful game in the works .

I know I have been a bit neglectful of this thread as of late, but I have been either caught up in my own stuff or fast asleep. Soon I should have a good opening to continue with these. When I start I will go through the entire weapon rigging tutorial + I will be remaking the earlier subtitled tutorials and have a tutorial based on a few techniques that I developed while modeling in blender.

What to expect when I get to it.

- Textureing seamlessly in blender without having to go out of your way with with either of the other methods.
- Glowing effects (I promise I will get this worked in eventually)
- My many techniques for modeling; edge, subsurf, and others.
- Eventually a fully working Skeleton for your characters complete with a Ragdoll compatibly, a upgrade to the basic animations, lip sync compatibly, and custom animations to cover some things that should have been included.

Thanks everyone that have been using my tutorials and not bashing me over the head for the choice of music .

I don't get it. Is Blender 3D the same as Blender 2.5?

God help me, Please.

Blender 3D is the same as Blender 2.49/2.5

I use Blender 2.49 instead of 2.5, because of the fact that 2.5 is still going through beta stages and I am just waiting for them to finish it up before I go into depth here.

So I don't have anyone using the whip, , I will soon have the Weapon Rigging tutorial up on YouTube. It may be later on today, but still it will be there... tomorrow evening at the latest.

Note: it is rigging not animating, that one is the next one.

I am still going to "Hopefully" get to animation. Right now it is kinda of hard to do tutorials, mainly do me coming off a few bad, exhausting weeks of work.

I also have a few game projects, the New AI Upgrade that should come out at some point, and the switches pack that I am working on. SO... it might still be a while, but I will see if I can't bump it up sooner.

If I can manage it, I might work on it tonight as long as I don't have any pain inducing headaches when I wake up (trust me it happens more often then not).

The video tutorials are very nice. (I made a medkit).

It seems some people are interested in learning about the basics of Blender using the new interface. I found a fairly comprehensive free beginner's guide here focusing on 2.57. (It's 380 pages). Perhaps this could help answer some basic questions while you work on FPSC specific issues.

@2Beastmode4u, I have not made any tutorials for Blender 2.5, so far. I will eventually make the cross-over to 2.5, after I finish up the animation for weapons and make sure that all I have been teaching (or will teach) in the tutorials is still available in 2.5

@leo877, I have not messed with the particles or physics features of blender much. The only thing I fooled around with was Cloth and that was all I messed with.

@MaskedMakrel, I am going to go ahead and add that to the first post. All though, the transition between 2.49 and 2.5 isn't extremely complicated.

That is expected, and I apologize for not pointing out how to import stock weapons and models into blender. Basically, you just need to do this.

1. import it into fragmotion, lithunwrap, or similar porgram with a .3ds exporter
2. export to .3ds file format.
3. import .3ds file into blender.
4. changes scales (scalex, scaley, scalez) in the transform properties window (N to open) to 1 to get original size
5. try the rest of the tutorial and wait for the squeal over animation.

I am using the new version of belender and for me it doesn't seem todo xfiles so I plan on following this check list...
1. Convert my project to an 3ds file
2. upload it to frag motion
3. from frag motion I export it to a xfile
Is this how I should do it? I just want to make sure.
EDIT
Yes it is

@ john
do you use blender 2.5x. If so, theres is export but it an add on.
all you have to do is go under files > click user perferences> click add on tab > then go to import - export > there direct.x from kara. just check that little box. close the box. then it should be under file export.
pic include.
