it doesn't it makes cutscenes (3d movies) with ready animated models..
for modelling I recommend AC3D..

You CANT import x models into AC3D...I use AC3D and 3d canvas pro for my modeling but you CAN import X models into 3d canvas pro.

Just a recomendation, but I'd say use blender. Its nice, free, has many nice features, and about everything anyone needs to make 3D models, including its own animation with skeletal rigs . Just a suggestion, I'm not saying stuff like AC3D aren't good, I'm sure they're great, but for my personal opinion blender's just an all purpose 3D Anything software.
