Hello thier people,

During this lovely summer holiday, i was given the task to create a sword, the specifics were left out, though after some research and design ideas. I found that carbon steel, or flexisteel works best on a material standpoint, Stainless just shatters. Carbon is signifcantly cheaper and does the job, so i think ill stick to that.

The brief was simple, create a weapon that can dissapate the force of the opposing object and let the sword absorb the blow. In other words increase the force needed to break the sword. The designing will be trial and error for a bit while i understand the mechanics involved.

Now to the reason i made this thread, Iam in of need advice on how to build the sword, ill get to the specifics as the project moves along but atm i need the materials to start.

I really do hate my teacher. Smelting wouldnt be a option as the 'forge' is in the tech department which is closed for renarvations -_-

So what iam left with is ethier blowtorching- which can get really messy or finding a bar about 4inchs width by 1.4m at 1.5ich thick

I reside in the UK and i really dont want to bulk by anything from a dealer, so any resisdents know where to order a bar? Or even a internet link to where i can buy thr stuff because i keep getting frying pans. -_-

Thanks for any help
