I was just wondering, how much have you guys earned (before deducting costs) from programming and selling games using TGC products?

My current sales: Somewhere around $250 - $300.

Well, it wasn't using a TGC based product, but it was for a TGC product. Does that count? ($21.00 USD)

If you're talking strictly from TGC products, $0, as I've only made FPSC games which I don't feel are good enough to sell. I dabbled in DBP for a while, but have decided to move on to create my own engine.

I'm strictly making everything free.

That's how I roll.

That's my excuse for not being able to sell.

So far the stuff I have made is freeware, so £0 - hopefully I'll make some money one day.

Is that revenue from what I recall as Vegetator Pro? (or something similar) - that tool looked good from what I remember of it.

I got DBC from Amazon for £15 all the way in 2002

I got DBP from Amazon for £50, I ordered it on 2nd December 2002.

As for profit, I think I am over -£100 spent on TGC gear

Not sure exactly, but with everything being freeware, I've still made a couple of grand over the years. The main thing is saving money though, Mods get store credit a couple of times a year and that saves money buying software and plugins, it's kinda like being sponsored I guess.

2 grand would be nice.

A grand total of $0.00.

Then again I really haven't applied myself to a project! I just don't have the time, what with study and working! Maybe I need to work out a better daily schedule!

I haven't sold anything; apart from a game I made ages ago, but I don't recall it ever being purchased.

The only income I've had is from adsense on my site, which I pay to keep up.

£22.01

I was at somewhere over the $900 USD range ( I have pretty much everything made a year ago or older) last time I checked in buying TGC stuff and haven't sold anything from it. Everything's been open source and given away. That'll change soon though I hope when the real world problems stop taking up all my time.

I could have made some money but DBP programs are not stable enough or machine compatible enough for my liking for sales. I mean come on ... I still have yet to get Dark PhysX to work on ATI cards with any new updates. I finally gave up. Now I may re-write some in Play Basic and sell them with a few upgrades.

I am also wondering why play basic is no longer on the TGC list for sales and why it was never more popular here seemingly ...

Ummmm let's change the subject

Today or tomorrow I find out about a new job position where, if I get it, I will not be allowed to make anymore iPhone apps. Let's see what happens first.

Must admit I never spent any money on TGC either. I got DBC for my birthday, then I earned the Darkpackagethingy with a lot of software in it with some translation job for them.

Puts the balance at exactly $0.00, which with the current exchange rates equals €0.00 or GBP 0.00.

I also got DBC for free as a present from my dad after scoring a high mark in history class (I really suck at history, this must have been my highest mark ever...). I also haven't earned anything with it, so 00.00$...

But honestly, I enjoy making products and giving them away... For free... I don't know why, it's just how I am.

Over the summer holidays I earn about £350 by working with my dad (not gaming, gardening ). During other times, I earn a whopping £0.00. Awesome. Perhaps when I begin selling I'll earn some cash.

Approx £12,900 over the last two years. Providing contract work, from DarkPRINCIPLES Professional, and a few bespoke software solutions to customers from outside of the community.

One customer wanted to be able to tour his building design in 3D. I created a non-violent FPS game featuring his design, using FPS Creator and some custom segments and textures. I had £500 for that job.

In the last few years, about £700. Not from TGC products, but programming in general - £200 for some applications at my work experience placement (they paid me to go back after the placement finished) and £500 for a database system for a nearby charity (they offered me the cash as an incentive to get it done by a certain date, after I had already started work. And that cash bought me my Macbook too )
