Hi

You get exactly the same content out of the box with X10 as you do with X9 and some exclusive X10 content that is not in X9.

All model packs work with X10 and providing you update to the latest v109 you will have a very nice experience developing with X10.

Exactly what he said. X9 has some bonuses, but not enough to be better then x10 in my opinion.

The only thing most people want from the X9 mods is ironsights and recoil and X10 is better in every other respect.

All X9 mods have a tradeoff. Project Blue UM focus on scripting and performance but EFX focus on graphics.

X10 is a better game engine than X9. There are some neat features in some of the X9 mods but the sum of their parts do not amount to X10 I'm afraid.

I'm going to be demonstrating some AI in X10 soon which shows it still has the upperhand over X9 where it counts.

Dude just go for x10. Yeah x9 has some nice things going on(Through mods though, and some of those mods have to be bought and others don't let you sale your games.) And when the migration(V 2.0)comes out x10 will be by far the better of the two..

When the migration comes they are supposedly going to have the same features, but X9 will still run with directx9.0 probably.

No they have not said what they will do with x10 minus some importing of some mods.. They have just said that x9 will get all the features of x10 that x9 can handle. so think of all the thing they showed in the tech demo that x9 can not do with out lagging your system(well in lee eyes.). Come on do you really think they would screw every one that paid that extra $30 or how ever munch it is in other countries by making both x9 and x10 exactly the same.. I think not, I think x10 will get a lot of those features we thought we were going to get. Cause as munch as people will tell you different x10(11) will be the future of gaming. Just like x9 took x8 place the same will happen with x10 and so on..

Seth Zer0 is correct

FPSC X10 is a better engine than X9 is now and after the migration X10 will get all of the X9 updates included in v115 and features from some mods.

X10 has some tech X9 doesn't such as shader support for segments, dynamic shadows (inc NPC's), bloom, water, ragdoll physics and Dark AI which realistically are not all going to make it into the X9 migration version. Also X10 supports GPU instancing which gives a huge performance benefit and cannot be implemented into X9.

Going forward TGC have suggested they will release the FPSC X10 source code once DBPro X10 is released and then we will have lots of mod options available on top of all the existing cool stuff.

If you want the best FPSC engine that will be relevant for the long term you need to get X10.

X10 is definitely the superior product, even if it lacks proper support. If anything, I think now is one of the best times to convert to X10. Why? X10 has been around for over a year...now is when the community is finally understanding how to use a lot of those features that are included but were so obscure at the time of release that nobody knew how to use them (relief mapping, segment instancing, custom weapons, custom effects, normal/specular mapping, etc.). Plus, there are some new things that I´m working on that I don´t think have really been exploited before; there are a whole host of little features that nobody ever uses...

The fact that the only way you can get these features in X9 is through mods should officially say which is the superior engine. When the source is released, nobody´s going to have to worry about graphical upgrades, instead they can focus on gameplay mods. So yeah, I´d go with X10, if you want to make modern-looking games that is. (I´ll even go as far as to say that some game mechanics asides, it´s quite possible to make games surprisingly similar to games like Prey; that´s what X10 was designed for)
