Hi! I have tried CharacterFX to animate a model (i've used it before) but when ever I try to export or save the model (saving to CharacterFX's native format) a message pops up saying there is an error with some dll but it's written in a different language. So I can't save anything. Anyone else have this problem?

My model is over 1.5k polys so could this be a cause of the problem?

I figured out that the saving to the native format error happens after an error pops up when I try to export to Direct-X.

(The attached picture is the message that pops up)

UPDATE: It seems to be working fine now... I have no clue what I did but it's working Now to animate

Quote: "here is a checklist that i go through to make sure CharacterFX exports properly:

1) Make sure your model is triangulated. CFX hates untriangulated models.
2) Make sure EVERY SINGLE VERTEX is assigned to a bone. If you don't, what is shown in the screenshot can occur.
3) Try not using splines. Sometimes splines work and sometimes they don't. I don't know why

try these things and tell us how it goes"

i posted the same thing here: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=151026&b=3

it wasn't the same issue as yours, but i've noticed that difference problems happen for those 3 same reasons.

also, try them in that order. #1 is by far the most common reason that CFX bugs out

Thanks the exporting works now (after I rigged the model) but I still can't save it to the native file format.

NEVERMIND! The export worked once but now it doesn't work...

I attached what the message is to the first post.

It isn't your polycount, I'm working with one that's over 3k polies and it's fine. I'm have CFX troubles again, too, I'm about to post a thread .

You might need to repost the pic (the forum messes up on pics with uppercase extensions). I think I've had this error before. It usually happens when I just try to load a model and immediately export it. You have to rig it, bind the skin, and do a little animation before exporting and it should work fine.
