I always liked that name for a vehicle!

It took me about 4 hours this afternoon to make this model using max. I haven't modeled in a while so I took the opportunity to practice while the wife is at her parents. It isn't UV mapped or textured yet, but I am going to call the 3d part done. I took some liberties with it but it matches the reference pic pretty closely.

Anyways, attached is a .rar file for this model. Inside the rar is: .3ds, .x, a reference pic i used, and a text file with model info.

It has 6674 polys.

Let me know what you think.

Nice one, thats something I'd been thinging of doing, but they always look to hard to do.

Now all you have to do is the other hard part paint it.

nice model but you could half the ammount of polys by deleting the lins going through the middle of each poly.(not making it triangle polys(square polys?))

Lol, you will always have tri's for polies, there is no way to get around it (that i know of). Even if it looks like you are modeling with squares in your modeling app, you are really using tri's, and that is what it exports to.

Thanks! I am working on texturing the model right now. I suck at texturing, but hopefully, it will be good practice for future models. I will be doing a lot more with it, but this is what I have so far:

As far as the polys go, I am pretty sure that they are always triangles. Inside of a .x file, there are always three sets of numbers per line. eg:

I could be wrong, but I have always modeled using tris.
