I'm just preparing it for release now

Also what melee weapon fix is this? I didn't realise there was a problem with melee weapons.

Remember I told you that with certain melee weapons, when you swing, it would automatically aim up. I thought you said that you fixed that, if you didn't, this is a reminder .

Maybe make this with my particle system I'm adding? Then you can do drips as well.

I presume this is the head bobbing as you walk?

Ok guys, here's the latest test exe:

It has a new in-game settings menu that allows you to change Horror Mod settings and the game ambience whilst playing the game.
So no more need to close the game, edit settings then rebuild it
The menu does not currently save the settings for the future but if it's popular I will add saving in
The menu also has a transparent background so you can see the settings change as you change them.

Settings you can change:
Blood Timer
Blood Particle Count
Player Speed
On-Rails Speed
Camera FOV
Flashlight Colours
Ambience Colours
Ambience Visibility

You control the menu using the arrowkeys: up/down to move to a different setting and then left/right to edit the value of the setting.

Also I'm going to add a blood shader to the blood so it's wet but I need to think of a new way to do the blood so you see the wet blood for as long as possible.
So far I've had the idea for custom blood splat images and apply the shaders to them but if you have any ideas please feel free to tell me

I don't have my FPSC so installed so I forgot the location of the folder. I think it's in the decal folder though.

alright im opening it, i cant play it cause im using mac ,but ill look through the files, but im pretty sure that knxrb told the forum that the blood that came out of enemies was using particles

Ok, I made a copy of my FPSC and I put in the testing files for the mod. I made a game and I applied the 3 appear scripts to 3 zombies. All the mutations worked (I'm using a sniper with a scope, btw). When I headshotted the zombie that had the headshot & mutations on, the game crashed.
Just a small glitch I'm having. Awesome mod, though!
(And yes, it's being applied to the appear of the zombie).
I might buy it when I test everything out.

What zombies are you using that the mutations are working ? This is something I can't get to work, even tried with the unarmed thug.

Correct and not correct.
The seperate blood that makes the blood splats on walls, floors and static objects are not images, the default blood decal is. The blood you see in the picture is the blood decals and some blood splats on the walls in the background.
So the blood consists of particles and images and as Ply said to make it darker just edit the image.

The 'Blood Timer' menu setting changes how lnog the blood spurts out of the neck after a headshot. The larger the value the longer the blood spurt.
The 'Blood Particle Amount' menu setting lets you set how much blood is made after a headshot and bullet wounds.

Also have people tested the menu? Do you want it kept and do you want me to add saving or do you want it removed?

I downloaded the test version and i must say great job on the headshots and blood, this is something i could realy use for my horror game.

The only thing i didn't like was the frame drop,
4 zombies and it drop 20 frames. 68 > 48 frames,

But still this is a great mod and i am considering to buy this.

screen change- not resoloution. but basically change how big things look. like so you can make your self look like a giant (like in halo) or really small (like in condemned) .

and im still really confused about the blood lol so its particles and decals?

Horror Mod still displays the blood decals when you shoot a character, it also makes blood particles to make the blood fly around and splat on walls, floors and static objects.

also i emailed you (and a bunch of other people) and my email may not be working cause i didnt get any responses, did you get it and respond or not yet?

(ps: are mirrors in it yet? and how can we make your flashlight flicker? and how do we exactly make a particle blood pool? and lastly can we make the flashlight turn off and on with trigger zones? )

I will purchase this as sson as I get money to buy it with. And it's gonna be pretty soon.

But I have one iidea tought. Like if a zombie, or any other melee character is walking towards you and there is a obstacle in between, that it would walk around it. Not get stuck in there.

But I need to buy this. The mutation in itself is just so tempting. And headshots. And I like on-the-rails too.

how about a script that they
1 rise from dead when you are near
2 rise from dead when you are extremly close!
3 look dead (up against a wall) and come to life where you are right there!
(those would be good horror scripts, but whatever this is a mod, not a script bank just ideas)

Hey guys, posting to tell you all about a new feature.
I've redone the FPSC text and drawing displays so now the FPS only drops by a tiny amount for text or text huds drawn to the screen.

Do you know of the test game statistics screen that shows all the game & pc stats? It gets constantly updated and it lowers my FPS from around 10-15 FPS when it's showing.
Now it doesn't lower the FPS at all, not a single frame is lost!

And for all you users who use text huds, you no longer have to worry about the FPS dropping with lots of text huds displaying at the same time.

I'll be adding new text display commands for the next test exe release:
Show text (can also read from file)
Set the text colour
Set the text font
Set the text opacity
And also draw shapes such as boxes, circles, lines and ellipses with different colours, transparency and size.

Also the in-game settings menu now has saving, so now you can save the settings for when you next load FPSC.
