Well I have an EEEPC 1000HE (my opinion one of the best netbooks standing next to the n10j) And well it runs, but it could run smoother.

yeah

I having recieve it yet I'm get it next year

but I will have to do some hacking because its got this big lock on it (remember it only meant to be for school)

*no installing programs
*web filter even using your own internet
*no usb ports will work
(don't know why but nsw edu will do anything to stop hacking)

so LOL

thanks

You could have a spare Harddrive, use it too install everything you want and when you go back to school use Their harddrive, no one would know.

That really sucks that none of my schools ever gave me a laptop.

But yeah, anything the Australian education department has anything to do with is easy to hack, I got through the earlier stages of high school because the system was so easily duped.

(I have crap grammar because of it...LOL).

If it has a cd drive, simply install another copy of XP on there and you will have free access at that copy, means dual boot.If it doesnt have a cd drive, then I guess opening the laptop and replacing the HD would be the only way.

We're getting 'em in Vic too, except we get macbooks. Once I can grab a windows emulator I'll be good to go.

Yea im sure its 160gb cause our teacher have them and iv checked the hard drive

press ctr+alt+del and goto performance to c if it is duel core (could be duel cpu all the same to me)

If u want to install something copy/install windows to a usb and boot ur laptop from use and u will have admin and be able to install on/in the laptops program files. AND yes usb ports work

if u boot of the usb it doesnt load the filter and doesnt filter ur internet. The Millions Of Dollors Spent On The Filter Was Paying People To Search The Web And Block Sites

My teacher getting an email from one of her old students from her old school bout how to use proxies... i would figure it out myself but i havnt got da laptop yet so i dont know a thing bout the filtering

FINALLY

teachers have even privlages with tafe students (cept teachers get utube) so get a tafe password/username... it works wonders

(i visit fpsc while at school using a tafe password)

ok

great info very helpful

I know how to put stuff on with out the admin

proxies = not possible

run a os off usb sounds good

question

but does the web filter apply when you go home and use your own internet?

one of the teacher told me that if you remove the screws it won't work again
I think that would be impossible I don't know
do you know if its true

oh and whats your msn can I add u

What are its specs?

I've been wondering about running FPSC on a Netbook like this one.

1.6 ghz
1 gb ram
160 gb hdd
IntelĀ® Graphics Media Accelerator 950

Quote: "Download FPSC Free and try it out"

I don't have the Netbook yet, so I was wondering if anyone else had advice after trying a similar model.
I know more RAM would be better etc, but I was wondering how well it runs on one with specs close to those.

A bit off topic here but: Because my state (here in the good ol' USA) has an awful Governor, with a horrible budget, our school is losing laptops for the students.

Sorry about that
