Wel it is my first time to UV map. And I found a wierd "bug" in blender. I have a cirkel of 16 segments and it is filled and it has not been deformed ( it sort of is already in 2D ). But when i try to UV map it. Blender deforms it. How can I order blender to let the cirkel keep its form like it is in 3D.

Another problem I found. Because it would't let me keep the cirkel as one piece. I tried to just cut every piece to map in manually. But then my "pizza slices" are transformed in other shapes in the UV screen. So the previus question counts here to. How do I order blender to let the shape keep it's shape??

PS: Sorry for the fact that there are errors in my text. English is not my native language.

Blender's UV mapping is a bit tough to get the hang of - read this and see if it does anything different:

Select all the top faces from your pizza, and look at it from the top view. Press U, then select 'project from bounds'. That will unwrap the faces you selected together from the view you're looking at them from.

Yeah, I find that problem with blender's UV Mapping too.

Won't that only work with vertain objects? Anyways, does something like wings 3D or anim8r UV map proportionally? I think I should just export the models from blender as a .obj or something and then reimport them into another thing like wings 3D, and then re import/export back into blender when I'm done, unless there is a way to have proportional unwrapping straight from blender?

I've never understood why UV mapping hasn't been more intuitive in most popular 3D Applications. I haven't found 3D Studio Max's to be any more helpful than Blender's. XSI Softimage is probably the best one so far, they have some cool stuff in their software.

I highly recommend third party UV Mapping tools. HIGHLY. I have found http://www.uvlayout.com/ to be the most helpful. Watch a few of their training video's and you'll get the hang of it real quick. It's only a 30-Day demo, but you can keep redownloading it. The demo has been more than enough for me, so there's hasn't been a need to invest in the $99 license.
