Great movie! I remember seeing this a while ago, but still just as funny.

I love Eve...but because my wife is addicted to WoW I'm stuck with it.

Onion news is always funny.

I play Eve Online every once in a while when I'm needing to play a space game (after playing several RPG's). The last time I stopped it was about a month after I bought an Orca.

I do not care much for spacey type things, they tend to bore me.

One of the reasons why I went back to Eve Online is because you pretty much don't have to watch yourself mine asteroids. You can do other things like program while you're waiting for your cargo hold to fill up... especially if you're mining ice. You can calculate exactly when your hold will be full and go back to Eve at that time.

Surely that defeats the object of it being... well, you know... a game?

So, you play, to, program? What? That sounds like Runescape, but without the random events that make you stay there to mine, which IMO just sounds pure boring for a game.

Well it was a way for me to maintain my sanity while programming all the time.

I would stay alive with drones protecting me while I'm mining in Eve and programming in Darkbasic at the same time. I would go back to Eve every 15 mins or so when my cargo was full to warp to the nearest station, unload and warp back to mine. If there was an attack the sound kept working so I'd hear weapons fire even when the window was minimized... so it was an easy check to see if I needed to do anything. After a couple of hours of doing that I would 150 million plus isk richer and made progress in whatever project I was working on in Darkbasic Pro.

When not programming I'd be totally focused on Eve Online. It's much more than mining... it's just that mining is so boring it's better to do other things while doing it.
