lol,

erm about sobig though, i dont think its in the actual status of attacking pc's yet, its just in "spreading mode". this is one hell of a weired (kool?) virus.

Once the command is issued for attack, from some sort of master server far away, then we'll be seeing some action. but since it can dynamically update itself, when it does attack, no-one will know what it is actually going to do untill the command is issued. its like a war, and its a general sending out his troops.

I'm wondering if someone will ever create a virus solely to destory all other virses.

Yes somebody did once make a virus to attack other virus'.

It was on the Amiga, where a type of virus existed called a bootblock virus. To understand this we have to understand that hard disks where not terribly common and a lot of games booted off of floppy disk, there is an area on the floppy called the bootblock which enables the disk to act as the boot drive.

Many virus' latched themselves onto the bootblock in order to spread to the next game you played when you reset.

Now some bright spark created a virus checker that spread in the same way and made sure you did not have a bootblock virus. Unfortunately all the other virus checkers considered it a virus and wiped it out.
