add my scoped code to your model and the scope will work like the real thing , code in code snippets.

i havent actually read the code but I read the description and thats cool

im not sure exactly how this would work, but to truely get a real zoom (not just moving the camera closer and possibly through objects) i think theres a way to narrow the camera's angle of view, which would take a picture of a smaller 3d area, then enlarge it to fit the entire screen

sounds like a zoom effect to me, just a theory though

also is all modelling just a bunch of extrusions and repositioning verts?

heres the process for how I made the pistol:

overall 99% of what I did was extruding

ok heres improved model:

just a little cosmetic work

im starting to understand this UV mapping and texturing stuff, after prolly 5 hours total of fiddling with it

im starting on the final texture now

btw the model is now 2640 faces (those rounded cylinder indentations killed the poly count)

guns are meant to be done in parts or sections. it allows for better shape and form. you should try doing it the handle the barrel the then the main gun part (with the revolver spinning thing separate as well) also with the scope seperate
