I always thought this could only be achieved by a fluke with Milkshapes terrain generator...but I think I may have found a better way to do it.

Go here and download the Terrain Generator. This terrain generator is awesome because you design the terrain with your mouse rather than relying on a random height map generator. Once you have created your terrain, texture it and export it to .OBJ. Open up Milkshape (or whatever program you use) import it then export it to Direct X format. When you run "MakeentitiesfromXfiles", I think 40 is the best scale for 16x16 maps, but it depends on the size of the terrain I guess.

Wow, this is great! But... how do I put the texture there? I'm so confused... I've tried, but I can't browse textures. How do I do that?

My username is finnish, and it translated to english is: "CrazyIdiot" or something.

Q.

How do I load textures into TG?
A.

From the Tools menu select Options and navigate to the Packages tab. The Add Package button can be used to load Half-Life WAD3 texture packages and the Add Folder can be used to load .bmp, .jpg, .tga and .wal textures from a folder on your hard drive. You must first start a terrain before you can access the tools menu.

You can make your own WAD's as well.
