ok ive got two completely unrelated questions here but ones that ive been really interested in because i want to use them.

1. How do you turn a dbpro project into a screensaver?? is there a program that you use? if so where do i get it?

2. What does the installer type exe do? i tried compiling in that format once but i think it was exactly the same. What is its purpose, how does it work, how do you use it?

i would really appreciate it if you could answer either or both of these questions.

in answer to the first question i think you can rename the compiled exe to a .scr and put it in the windows directory. It should show up on the screensaver list in desktop properties. You can select it and there u go.

hmmm...firstly when i rename it it becomes blabla.scr.exe so its still an exe and secondly where in the windows directory do i put it? i cant find any other screensavers there and i dont think im supposed to put it in the main directory...

you need to go into your folder options and change hid extension for knowen file types. then you can rename it right.

Firstly your an idiot. Secondly turn your extentions on then change the extention. Thirdly the screen savers go in system32. If you didnt know this you could have searced for *.scr and saw this. If you cant do a simple search then

I thin the installer type just creates something similar to a self-etracting ZIP file.

If you specify the compiled EXE name to "blahblahblah.scr" from within the IDE, I think dbp compiles it slightly differnetly to make the program screensaver-friendly

If it's not screensaver friendly you can just press CTRL+ALT+DEL and go to Task Manager and close the screensaver...

I don't know the intricate details but screensavers are actually different from exes, but only slightly.
