Hi, I have just started texturing with Jasc Paint Shop Pro. This is my first serious texture using the program so go easy on me. It was aimed to have a childish, cartoonish look and I think I managed to pull it off. Total poly count is 54 polys. I have attached the Model (.x format) with it's texture for public use, if, by any chance someone is interested. 499kb in size. Screenshot below:

nackidno looks very good

How did you make the wood texture look, been look for away to do that in PSPro, do you have a link to where you found out how or did you just work it out.

I used the texture layer available from the effect tab and modified it a little. What version are you using? I am using v.9 from 2004 so the features and interface might differ.

Thanks, Great to see you like.

I am using corel Paint shop pro X so there might some big differences on what came with this one.

As you know your self if you go searching you find a lot on how to do stuff on photo shop but find it for the other takes a bit longer
.

Which drawing package do you use? seen that target mouse icon a few times now.

I use AC3D as it works they way I think.

Would like to use truespace but can't get all those icons memorized.

I haven't read any tutorials or the likes, I just follow my gut feeling. But I have to agree with you, finding tutorials for other software than Photoshop is pretty hard.

I'm using Blender, I used AC3D before (trial) but the grid snap was inaccurate so I stopped using it. ^^

Though corel is highly regarded by many digital artists, its difficult to get to grips with.

I use PS CS4, courtesy of the ICT department.

Too ture that, just try doing a box and color it and you could be pulling your hair out, ms paint simple, but not PSPro, has something to do with all the layers you can use to make the picture, if you crack that then its a breeze.

I think the layer system works really good in Jasc PSP. Or maybe it's just me since I'm having some experience working with layers in Pain.Net. Either way I'd rather have layers than working without them. There are so many things that is made possible because of layers. ^^

I folowed three tutorials and i was away, it was litrally how to pull the black-line drawings away from the white scan background. without the horrible stubble left behind oh and how to gradient shade properly...

It was relativily easy after that. Saying that though i have been using photoshop for about 5 years, only took it seriously about 3 weeks ago when i got me a new graphics tablet. I got pretty good fast since it already knew most of the stuff.

Edit Yep layering is so handy, its a fallback if you run out of crtl-z's

Whoops, I just noticed a UV error. The centre part (the actual hatch) is mirrored. I'll fix this as soon as possible. The shading on the nails is messed up as you can see. ^^
