I'm installing Linux Ubuntu on my computer and I still want to do some game programming on Linux - I've read that you can run Visual Studio 2008 on Linux using VirtualBox (there's Youtube videos of such a thing), but can I also install Dark GDK on it? I would hate to learn a new game development engine in order to run it on Linux

Thanks for the help,
-Mike

I dont think you will have native compatibility as GDK requires directX which is a windows thing. I think you can use some emulator or other(wine maybe ?) in a linux environment to run directX apps though im not sure how stable it is or if it would work for GDK. or not.

If it ain't broke.... DONT FIX IT !!!

Virtual Box is a virtual machine from Sun Microsystems. As long as you install windows on your virtual box it will function just like any other windows machine.
