Hi guys,

I just figured out FPScreator and I think it could help me for doing scientific research.
I'm actually a french postdoctoral fellowship in Boston, working on scene perception.

One of my project is to study the 3D perception in navigable environments. For that, FPScreator could be really helpful but I have few questions before deciding to buy it...

I'd appreciate any help, advices or comments

1. Do you think it would be possible to build a stereoscopic environment, in which stereoscopic 3D could be perceived with red/blue glasses ? Or at least, getting as inputs two different pictures from simulated camera slightly shift each others ? ( like ours eyes)

2. Is it possible to interface FPS creator with others softwares like Matlab and the Psychtoolbox that we mainly use in my lab in order to record reaction times, or others types of responses ?

As I previously said, I really don't know FPS creator.. so may be I'm totally wrong.
In any cases, I will appreciate all the comments or advises for creating a 3D stereoscopic environment...

Thanks in advance,
Take care

The FPSC source code is freely available, so you could theoretically do pretty much whatever you want with it. The code is written in DBPro, which means you would have to buy and learn DBP to modify it, though. DBP does have stereoscopic support.

I don't think you need to buy FPSC to do what you want though. It wouldn't be much harder to do most of this in straight DarkBASIC. If you know any C++, you could also go with DarkGDK, which is free.

Do you have any experience programming? If you know any C++ I feel like you'd be much better off using something like Ogre3D, especially if all you need is graphics. Ogre3D is so much more widely used than FPSC that no doubt there will be others who have accomplished something similar to what you're trying to do and they'll be able to help a great deal. Otherwise I'd go with DBP. But definitely not FPSC.
