Hi, I don't normally use these forums much as I'm used to the realgametools ones. However, I have been unable to log on there for a few weeks. All I get is a blank page when I go to the address. Am I going mad or have I got a weird problem on my PC? The address I go to is www.realgametools.com. Which I am pretty certain is the correct one. I need to message someone on that forum and because he doesn't use messenger or icq I can't get in touch. Anyone else had this problem? I have a bad feeling it is my computer but I have no problems with any other sites!

Oh and id Patch 5 any good? I'm about to install it and have a quick play but have seen a couple of posts aking for a new one already!! Surely it isn't that bad!

[href] http://www.realgametools.net/forums/index.php[/href]

links direct to the forum, the main site is gone, I think RGT has folded or something, they had a load of problems, then they where offline for a few weeks and one message and then nothing for two months then they put up a message saying they would be back online in a few days, then nada, zero, zilch!, I think maybe he has gone out of buisness, if he hasn`t it`s a strange way to run a company, you might have to move here on a permanent basis before long, the server was probably paid for "up front" for 12 months or so, when the subscription runs out then so may the server, a pity too since it was the more happening site before that.
patch 5 is OK as far as I know, all the posts I read they turned out to have issues like not having DX9.0b or they had realy old video drivers, the only one I can think of that wasn`t down to that was a guy who couldn`t get 3D objects to show up, but I think that one was sorted in the end cos the thread was dropped.

Thanks, I thought it may have been someting like that. There have been problems for a while by the looks. I have just tried the new version and it seems to still have some strange issues, such as thr refection mapping not working correctly. It may just be me but I wrote a little prog to test it and it just looks wrong!

I often find that effects such as shadows, refelctions, etc don't work if you try and test them with a little prog. However, when I made my main char in a game reflective it was certainly noticable and working

There's no place like 127.0.0.1

They work for me in small tests, I keep testing the commands until it does work, then im left with the definitive answer.

The 3d pick example showed me shadow usage in one line.

I'd got shados to work befor ethat - my grweatest problem is that they tend to be in odd places like on a wall in front of me instead of at my feet - but that's all light positioning.
