Sorry Tanner 3000 but no one in their right mind is going to make a high poly model for $5 that looks anything worth while. You should look at the this post for a better price guide. http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=138778&b=24.

Models are not made in minutes they take hours to do. So a quick breakdown of a time line. This doesn't take into account sleep, washing, eatting and any other actives.

base mesh 24 hours
high map 12 hours
Specular 3 hours
Texture 24 hours

Means working for you comes to a total of 12.6 cents an hour. There are people jail doing hard labour that get better pay. Add the cost of making it e.g food, computer, power, rent. I stand to make a loss.

My advice model for yourself or come back with a budget that people don't just laugh at.

I'll add something later on.

Wait sprite I think you mistyped or something. 24 hours for a base mesh?! That thread you linked said 4 hours and unless it's some really professional stuff 24 hours is very long time.

Use Google first... it's not rocket surgery!

Well I personally won't do it because I'm not that great at modeling but $10 is a good price if all you want is the low poly model and no animations/textures and if you don't want it unwrapped.

Use Google first... it's not rocket surgery!

its a rather simple model to make. if your willing to accept low poly. not rigged (possibly not with a very good texture or UV map) i would be willing to do it at $20. i am an amateur artist. i can promise a decent model though.

also about the texture would you want it cartoony(solid, bolder colors) or on the more realistic side(larger color variety)

$10,- no $5

That actualy made me laugh, not the pricing just the fact he never edited his post lol...

As the others said, that is far too low for the average modeler, I would take Azunaki on his offer, Ive seen his work and its pretty good, i can also honestly say you can get it cheaper, but the quality will a lot less considering your price range-most likly a stick figure with slight bulges "cause tehy l00ks c00l"-.

Here is some of his chracter work,

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=152152&b=3&msg=1775995#m1775995

Yes am playing nice today, ive been beaten to the punch, and it would be inaproprate for me to jump in now, so ill play support. =)

Good luck

Well the four hours is based on a 600 poly model, concept art, UV mapped, textured using a 128x128 pixel texture map, rigged for animation, and given 5 short in-game animations. Exclusive Rights.

A high poly model is what 10k+ with a 512 to 1024 texture map. So 24 hours is about right for the work. Also theres the riging and animation cycles they can be a pain in the ass at times.

I'll add something later on.

Oh ok, I thought you meant 24 hours just for the mesh no UV, texture, or animation. Lol that clears things up

3d Model:
4 hours
UV Mapping:
1 hour
Texture:
8 hours
Rig & Skin:
2 hours
Animation:
5 hours

Expectations of getting a 'next-gen' quality game character made for under $10:
Priceless

EDIT: Sorry, couldn't resist. But on a more serious note, the mesh wouldn't be too hard to create, but the mesh is probably as far as you would get with $10
