I'm loving this thread. Fight Club, V for Vendetta, Princess Bride, etc. All great.

One of my favorite movie clips/quotes ever (I apologize for the terrible quality):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJdjh2Jh4qk&feature=related

If you don't want to watch the video (which makes it SO much better).

Another great quote:

Quote: "And shepherds we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine Patri, et Fili, et Spiritus Sancti. *pull trigger*

The incomparable John Belushi from the movie "Animal House".

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock

Elevator voice: Level, please.
Scotty: Transporter room.
Elevator voice: Thank you.
Scotty: [under breath] Up your shaft.

Torg: [the Klingons have boarded the Enterprise only to find it is deserted] My Lord, the ship appears to be deserted.
Kruge: How can that be? They're hiding.
Torg: Yes, sir. The ship appears to be run by computer. It is the only thing that is speaking.
Kruge: Speaking? Let me hear it.
Enterprise computer: [Torg walks over to a console, placing his communicator towards it] 9-8-7-6-5...
Kruge: [shouts] Get out! Get out of there! Get out!
Enterprise computer: 2-1...
[the Enterprise bridge explodes]

[Witnessing the destruction of the Enterprise]
Kirk: My God, Bones... what have I done?
McCoy: What you had to do. What you always do: turn death into a fighting chance to live.

It's ok to cry people.

"Obi-wan never told you what happened to your father."

"He told me enough. He told me you killed him."

"No. I am your father."

How's that for a Star Wars quote?

"A lot of holes in the desert, and a lot of problems are buried in those holes. But you gotta do it right. I mean, you gotta have the hole already dug before you show up with a package in the trunk. Otherwise, you're talking about a half-hour to forty-five minutes worth of digging. And who knows who's gonna come along in that time? Pretty soon, you gotta dig a few more holes. You could be there all ... night. "

Great quote, but the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory pales in comparison to the 1971 movie.

Your opinions on everything Omega are consistently the exact opposite of mine.

The new Charlie & The Chocolate Factory is total whack compared to the old one. That especially includes the songs, taken from book or otherwise.

meh, the old songs were ok, but they were a little plain for my tastes. A guy can only listen to "Oompa-loompa-doomity-" whatever so many times. The songs from the new one are much better, IMO.
But lets not get off topic.

Quote: ""Revenge won't bring your father back, Ms. Swann, and it's not somethin' I'm intendin' to die for."

"...You're right. ...Then what shall we die for? You will listen to me. LISTEN!! The Brethren will still be looking here, to us, to the Black Pearl to lead. And what will they see? Frightened bilge rats aboard a derelict ship? NO. No, they will see free men, AND FREEDOM! And what the enemy will see is the flash of our cannons! They will hear the ring of our swords AND THEY WILL KNOW WHAT WE CAN DO!
...By the sweat of our brows, and the strength of our backs... AND THE COURAGE OF OUR HEARTS!...
...Gentlemen... Hoist the colors.""

Best not to argue with Omega Gamer about movies, as he will NOT accept other opinions

But I agree that the original was waayy better. Jonny Depp did not do a good job in that movie in my opinion.

I agree the original is better too but it's not Johnny Depps fault. The director wanted a Willy Wonka with psychological problems and Johnny Depp did his best half-crazy acting.

Quote: "There's no earthly way of knowing
Which direction we are going
There's no knowing where we're rowing
Or which way the river's flowing
Is it raining? Is it snowing?
Is a hurricane a-blowing?
Not a speck of light is showing
So the danger must be growing
Are the fires of Hell a-glowing?
Is the grisly reaper mowing?
Yes! The danger must be growing
Because the rowers keep on rowing
And they're certainly not showing
Any signs that they are slowing!!!"

@CoughMist

YES!

Quote: "Jules: Wanna know what I'm buyin' Ringo?

Pumpkin: What?

Jules: Your life. I'm givin' you that money so I don't hafta kill your @$$. You read the Bible?

Pumpkin: Not regularly.

Jules: There's a passage I got memorized. Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you. I been sayin' that **** for years. And if you ever heard it, it meant your @$$. I never really questioned what it meant. I thought it was just a cold-blooded thing to say to a mother****er before you popped a cap in his @$$. But I saw some **** this mornin' made me think twice. Now I'm thinkin': it could mean you're the evil man. And I'm the righteous man. And Mr. 9mm here, he's the shepherd protecting my righteous @$$ in the valley of darkness. Or it could be you're the righteous man and I'm the shepherd and it's the world that's evil and selfish. I'd like that. But that **** ain't the truth. The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin', Ringo. I'm tryin' real hard to be a shepherd."
