i've been doing some modeling lately and figured i'd show some of what i've been working on. the first pic is a skateboard, I've made this more or less out of inspiration from my nephew when he stayed a week with us this summer. He loves skateboarding

This pic of a head that i made was done by following Nowherebrains tutorial, you can find it here...

http://truesourceshop.com/agoracart55/agora.cgi?cartlink=Scattered_Pixel.html&cart_id=7953648.24742

If you decide to try the tutorial out, I would suggest finding an ear tutorial other than his. He is actually pretty messy and the ear tutorial in my opinion is a disaster. I just did my own without reference and what i hought looked right.

After the head was done, i've decided to keep it going by adding a body, half way through creating the body i've decided to change the model to be a female, the tutorial is of a female but as i created my head model I kept tweaking it as i went on to be more male. So now i have both and of course the last pic is where i am at now.

Thanks I'm working on a train now, I figure i might try and do the whole set seeing I have lots of time I broke a bone in my good hand a few weeks back and had no use of it sinse, so i figured i'd see how I manage modeling with my bad hand. lol Not to bad so far, just don't ask me to paint a texture just yet. But seeing I still have up to 8 weeks off, i have lots of time for modeling. Good thing is I can start using my good hand as of this morning, i finally got the pin that was sticking out of it taken out today.

@Azunaki, Once I have a male character completed, I may just that a go

Very nice work. You show good form with your edge flow. Keep it up!

Thanks Sid . This is the first part of the train, the engine. this model will eventually have a texture for it, going to add a couple finishing touches to the model first.

Thanks CoughMist. I finished making a box car for the train, still working on textures for them.

Looks great - what modelling app are you using?
I wish I was that good.

Best.

It's very good to know all links to Youtube that contain Rick-rolls. Sadly I don't.

Thanks guys for the compliments. As far as the textures, I havent actually started any till recently sinse my good hand has been in a splint cast for the past month. I actually did these models with my bad hand as a test to see how well I could manage. However I have started on the train. The texture you see on the second pic was just mainly a starting point to get a clean reusuable base texture. Here's an update to where it's at now.
As far as the editor I use.. I use Truespace.

You should make a skateboarding game.

Hi, it’s Robert with Stealthmod! You’ll be saying Stealth every time you use this mod! It’s like CoD! It’s like L4D! It’s like BioShock. A regular mod doesn’t work good – this works good and great.

it's nice, but I'm not sure about the normal/bump mapping, it makes the train look slightly obese?

I want robotic legs.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

@ Robert, The thought of a skate game has definately crossed my mind and have I been thinking up ways to go about it. I have experimented with animating a character to do tricks in the past and found it rather easy to do so the idea is still there for me for sure.

@ At butter fingers, I'm not quite sure I follow what your saying. I don't see how the normal map makes it look fat. lol If anything that I have noticed is that the diesel tank underneith looks a bit bulcky and could maybe be shrunk in a little. What would you suggest?
