So I'm currently working on a breakout type of game. It won't be too different from the original breakout/tile breaker games. It will contain a few different types of blocks; standard, metal, explosive and blocks that drop upgrades/downgrades. Upgrades and downgrades will affect your speed, the paddle speed, the number of balls, etc. I will probably include a two player system in the full version.

Here's a demo level which I recently made (it's a bit harder than the average level so I'll probably use it later on in the game). In this demo level you can only receive upgrades which affect your speed.

I have not yet thought of a name for the game so if anything springs to mind, please tell me >_>

I'm having troubles doing a titlescreen for the game. So if anyone is interested in doing so, leave a post here or give me a private pm and I'll give you my contact information. I'm willing to pay for the titlescreen. If you wish, your name will also be in the credits.

I also need a few music tracks, so if anyone is interested in that, it's the same "rules" as for the titlescreen =]

Changes made since the first post:

- Movement is now mouse controlled

C&C please =)

Nope, the background isn't animated :/

Didn't really think of that for some reason...Might be a good idea to get some animated backgrounds

Edit: Did you try the game?

I just tried it.

Pros

Fun gameplay, nice sounds and music. I love the backgrounds, did you make them yourself? I see you added powerups, that adds to the gameplay.

Cons

The ball only ever travels at 45° angles. When it collides it switches 90°. You should change that. And maybe add circles in the game so it bounces in other directions. Maybe make it possible to steer the paddle with your mouse for faster reactions. I recommend you check out "Break Quest", just type it into google. They made a great breakout game.

I'll probably change the paddle movement system to a mouse controlled system, because you're not the only one who has asked for this. I'll also look into the other stuff you said.

I didn't make the backgrounds myself, they're made by David Gervais and they're in the free stuff thread.

Thanks for the comments!
