The Hello world demo works fine, but the rotating cube doesn't display. It's like either the window is off my screen and I can't see it or it's minimized and won't maximize. I get a new task but there is no window. At first I thought it might be because of XP, but I tried in ME and I have the same problem. I am using an ATI Radeon 9000 video card (6.15.0001.6255) and DirectX 9.0b.

I'm interested in buying but it needs to work on my system.

Update: I tried adding the lines

Set Window On
CLS

at the beginning of the example and I get a black window with nothing going on. I tried several examples from the site and get the same results.

I even tried specifing the graphics card. Same results.

There has been alot of problems with the trial version. Just because the trial does not work it doesn't mean that the full version does not work either... Try downloading some of the newer (compiled) showcase examples to see if they work.

I just downloaded the showcase demo's and they all work fine. Now the question is if I purchase DarkBasic Pro and it won't let me create a working program on my PC, can I get a refund.

I'm impressed with what I see and I'd love to make use of it.

Dunno if you can get a refund. But if the showcase examples works fine, you should have no problem making a working program youself (depending on you programming skills). The showcase examples is compiled with the full version (ofcourse).

I tried DarkBasic and it works fine, so I went ahead and orderd DarkBasic Pro.

I tried stepping through the programs in the trial version of Pro and the compiling phase never ends, so that's why it isn't working. It's says that it's running a program called test.exe and it doesn't exist where it says it is.

I hope I can compile with the full Pro.

I found the compiler wont work if there is heavy disk access - you might find increasing your memory will help.

Actually, I've sometimes noticed the same thing. I think that the problem is with the editor rather than the compiler though.
