Hey everyone, I'm new to the FPS community, but I've used the program a bit in the past. I've modeled levels for Unreal Tournament 3 and Warcraft 3. I've also dabbeled in scripting and am partialy familiar with the editor. I'm using the free copy of FPS creator and am thinking of buying into the bonanza soon. A quck question though, How do I rotate entieties vieticaly (ex, a chair lying on it's sde.)

2.How do I add a shader to an entiety?

Welcome to the forum, DB.

To rotate entities in the editor, use the 1 - 6 keys.
I can't help you with the shader part.

Brian.

I will translate for you.

You can apply a shader of your choice by right clicking on an entity. Then, you need to make sure its dynamic, and then find "effect" and browse for the shader of your choice.

Unhelpful Titles

Please do not simply write "Noob Question", "I am a newb", "One Noobie Question", "A question", "Please help", "This isn't working" or anything similar as the title of your post. We have a search facility, and meaningless titles do not help others find answers to their questions. It will also help you to get quicker responses if people have an idea of your thread content.

Hey Demon Butler! Welcome to the forums. We hope you enjoy your stay

Since I see you're interested in the Bonanza, you might want to check here: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=157070&b=21&p=0#m1843744 as Cosmic Prophet is hosting a contest for FPSCFree users only, and the prize is the actual Bonanza.

A fellow UT3 developer, hmm? I'll be in touch

As for your questions, you may use the 1-6 keys to rotate an object vertically, and right clicking also brings up all properties for the entiety. Just a tip; set ALL of your static entities to immobile, since they are a part of the geometry. It saves your frame rate.

Feel free to post here with any questions and, as Nickydude pointed out, just be careful with your titles. Also, feel free to email me (the email button below my posts) with any FPSC questions, UT3 Editor questions, or just general game design questions! Best of luck!

Best,

Its a system that makes stuff look bumpy..to allow greater detail and use less polygons

If I was ever given the opportunity to remove all the bad from the world, I wouldn't, because for there to be heroism, compassion and all that is good, there must also be all that is bad.

Quite unnecessary.Static entities become part of the background geometry...in other words anything that's static will not affect frame rates. They will be immobile irregardless of whether you set them as immobile or not.
You can place a static entity and leave it.It will not use or pay attention to things such as physics or scripts because it is part of the background.

Hold on a sec.. If you're already skilled in Unreal 3 mapping, and other professional engines, then why are you sinking down to a beginner program? (Yes, I know that fantastic things can be made with it, but still)

Maybe just to fool around and have a little fun? It's not like he's the first person on these forums that have gone from a professional engine to FPSC. Though he certainly is one of the very very very very few.

Ahahah I guess I'm one of the very few as well than jenkins

I mainly use fpsc tho as a hobby. Now that I'm slowly getting into modelling as a hobby as well FPSC is the perfect place to test em all. Afterall i released my first pack today and i must say...i had a lot of fun modelling them.

Btw if your curious what i came from it was leadwerks sdk, source and a couple others. So my C++ is quite good...even tho i struggle with DBP.

Probably for the same reason I did; to be able to create a standalone game.

Wow...That was pretty fast...Thanks guys for the imediate warm welcome! And also thanks for the answers to my questions! That's gonna be a big help! And to answer Jenkin's question, I just thought it'd be good to familarize myself with all aspects of game creation, including FPSC, plus the fact that I heard it was pretty fun. I'm hoping it'll be more varied too in the options you get. Thanks again guys! You've made me feel welcome!

Just wait for the Migration. http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=142497&b=21

That will greatly increase what we can do.
