Does anybody know if DBPro can use Normal Maps? If so can you post simple code of a low res. sphere using this feature.

Thanks

Yes it can, but that's not how they work - i.e. no-one can post code showing a "low res sphere" because the object is quite irrelevant. The normals map is generated from the texture itself, not the object. So.. find a texture you want to use and I'll create a normals map for you so you can see what they look like. Then use it in DBPro with the bump mapping commands.

Texture Maker can create normals maps from any texture btw.

Cheers,

Rich

Hey Rich,
Thanks for your reply. I might be wrong, but are the Normals Maps your talking about for "static" textures?
There are programs like ATI Normal Mapper, Polybump, and Kaldera that create Normal Maps for use with a moving entity. Nvidia also has something called Melody (I don't think it's out yet though)
So do you know if DBPro is capable of loading any of these?
Does Texture Maker do the same thing?
Also, if DBPro cannot use these by default, is it possible to drop in a .DLL to make it work. Anything you can tell me will be a great help.

-Thanks Again-
