It's a third person point and click style adventure game.

The characters are in 3d (so's the fog, etc) but the background/foreground are textured plains - I think it provides a nice effect (see screenshots below)

Playable demo here:

WARNING: This demo contains nothing but 3 areas - nothing to do!!!! Many bugs no collision detection, etc.

NOTE: this is using the DEMO of DBPro (but I purchased the dark studio bonanza so I am waiting for the dbpro portion to arrive)

HELP: I am willing to pay someone if they can make this guy walk better

Thanks to everyone in the other sections of the forum who helped me

Thanks
Bill

Looks very nice, That way of rendering reminds me of the first few 3D Final Fantasies. I'll be sure to check this one out when I get the time.

Are you talking about animation? I do bone animation, if that is what you want. But I currently have no time at all. I hope you find someone that can do if for you

Very nice graphics! Are they pre-rendered? I remember seeing some other game, it may have even been by you, with beautiful graphics like this. I forget any details about it, I just remember that it was one of the few DBC games that ever made a profit.

It looks like a great game. The only thing I noticed that should be changed is the way you do the text. You don't need to have each letter in it's own file. You can have all the letters/numbers in one image and grab them individually with the GET IMAGE command.

Looks fantastic. Small point: it's spelled "fiancée". But I'm sure you knew that.

Thanks for taking a look everyone (and for the comments and suggestions)

Yes... the backgrounds are pre-rendered - only the character's and special effects are models and plains.

I think the main character should be a little higher poly with better facial animation and the walking probably should be fixed- if anyone knows of a good modeler/animator I can pay them.

Thanks

A better way would be to create a sprite using the image, and then use the 'set sprite texture coords' command to select the portion of the image to draw. (get image is very slow)

Yes I have noticed that "get image" is way too slow to use during the main game loop to actually create text on the fly... (Grog may of meant using "get image" at beginning to create all the necessary images(letters) from one graphic - just to keep things cleaner- and less files to install)

@Diggsey: But I will try your suggestion... "set sprite texture coords"

Thanks

That's exactly what I meant. There's no need to grab and regrab the same letters/numbers/symbols every time we want to write text... just once at the beginning of the code.
