I just finished GH: Metallica. The last song, bewilderingly, is The Thing That Should Not Be. I just don't get it. I thought the point of a game was that difficulty steadily increases as the game progresses? What was the point of sticking a dull song that me, a dyspraxic teenager, finished in one go with five stars and a 400 note streak, on Expert, on the end? I can't even do Battery or Master of Puppets on Expert! I was praying the whole game through for an end on The Call of Ktulu or even better the S&M version. Or even better, a boss battle where the boss played the orchestra half of Call of Ktulu S&M whilst the players did the Metallica half?

Anyone else finish the game and have similar thoughts?

The Call of Ktulu is a a hard song on that game? Umm ok, it's a simple song to play and not very fast. Personally, I think the entire GH game series is stupid.

Dragonforce ruined GH3 for me. Now I only really play Rock Band.

Ending the game with a Dragonforce song is just rediculous, nobody should ever try and play that stuff - is that supposed to be fun?. It seems they've borked the ending with Metallica as well. I mean consider GH2, that finished on Free Bird, and what an epic, genius, and challenging song to finish on. That song rocks, and people like to watch other people play it, especially that bridge when it goes into the fast bit. As I said it's an epic way to finish the game and that's why GH2 is, and always will be the best GH game. After GH2 they missed the point, I haven't even bothered playing very much of World Tour yet - really I played it until I got those Tool songs and haven't gotten back to it.

But yeah, they need to consider this stuff a lot more, having an old classic like Free Bird as the last song just tells me that the people who made GH2 are real rock fans at heart, it made the game cooler IMO. Since then, it seems to me that marketting has taken over and are more interested in silencing those who say it's not difficult enough.

GH2 = best guitar, best song collection, cutest avatar (Judy Nails, she must have gotten addicted to meth in-between GH2 and GH3). Sorry to drag this side topic, BTW .

No, it's not on the game at all. It should have been, it's one of their best pieces. If you're going to have Orion, you should have Call of Ktulu. There are other songs that probably would have been better as ending songs. The Thing That Should Not Be is just one of those songs that eventually you skip when it comes up on shuffle because it's so dull.

I'd play Rock Band more if they'd tone down the effects a bit, so many blurs and transparent bits and yellow highways during Overdirve that it's distracting. Not to mention the highway moves slower than a dead sloth with no hyperspeed. GGHT was awesome to end on.

In all, I think that there'd be disagreement whatever song they ended on. At least make it worth working towards, though.

Edit: full set list taken from the Wiki

I thought it was fun...

Surprisingly I never got GH: Metallica, and TBH I'm glad because I think that would gotten me re-addicted to the series.

Pull Me Under was final encore in GHWT even if it wasn't the hardest song ingame. But it was epic and awesome. The same IMO is for GH:M...

Well, there are gossips that Mustaine didn't allowed using it in a game about Metallica, since he was co-writer for it...

I completly disagree - I love it...

Make games, not war.
