FPSC Classic Product Chat / error 506 on vista?

hi,
i've made a multiplayer game and shared it with a friend.
it worked well on my pc (i have windows xp) and on the pc of my friend (he has vista) it gives the error 506 - can not find immage at line 11250
i checked his direct x, it's up to date

how can i make it work?

well, nothing to do with vista (As I have it and know)

how did you share it with your friend ? I know some users who had errors with stuff like burning to disk or even usb sticks

i ziped it and put it on a usb stick
what is the best way to share it?

normally something like e-mail cause then you know its not going to go corrupt.

Check that your friend has also extracted it right. If he still has errors tell him to run under XP SP2 Compatibility

i have already e-mailed it, befor even putting it on a stick
then it came up with the error, so i tought it was not the right way to do it, so i putted it on a stick, but it came up with thesame error again

he extracted it perfect (cuz i did it, and i did it on another pc at my home exactly thesame way and it worked) so i don't think that is the problem

looks interesting, what version of vista does he have ? Whats his pc specs ? Does he have the latest dx10 installed (Since vista doesnt really use dx9) ?

tell him to run as administartor and extract it to documents or whatever so it can write files as it goes .this error probs to do with damn UAC (user account control)

Yeah Vitas "New and improved" user interface will cause alot of issues if your not logged in as Admin. Tell him to try safe mod. If that dont work nothing probly will.

Yea, I turned all that poop off as soon as I got vista, Its just to make the pc child proof so little 5 yr olds who dont know much on what they are doing on the pc cant download viruses and stuff like that

thanks for the help, he has run it as administrator and it works, no errors anymore
