Wood Bat - Melee Weapon [Free Download!]

Thanks to Errant AI for allowing the use of his hands and animations, and thanks to teamhalo for rigging.


EDIT:
One of the melee weapons from my Weapons WIP thread. Since teamhalo was so generous to help me with the rigging, and since everyone else left such great feedback, I decided to share one of the early melee weapons with the community.

Bare in mind, the bat isn't perfect. It was rigged to pre-existing animations, and it's missing its audio files. But, you still can't beat the price

Wow! I might actually use this in the place of his truncheon! It's much more...fitting...

@ Cyborg, teamhalo has rigged this weapon for me in 3DSM until I can get the hang of rigging and animating in Milkshape. But, I have been using your tutorial and making progress, and I wouldn't have gotten anywhere without it, so thanks!

@Tanya, thanks! Always nice to hear from you!


@General Jackson, I can rig and I can animate weapons in Blender, but I don't have a way to get files with animations out of Blender and into FPS Creator. So until I can learn to use Milkshape to do the rigging, teamhalo has generously offered to test rig all of the weapons I come up to Errant's animations.

When I click the download button the page just refreshes, same in Firefox and Internet Explorer.
I've tried deleting all cookies etc.. and I've turned off my antivirus but it won't work

i've already added EAI's truncheon sounds to mine!

EVERYONE, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOWNLOADING EAI'S TRUNCHEON FROM THE GCS FOR FREE, THEN ADDING THE SOUNDS INTO THE WOODEN BAT'S.

i get the same problem, i pick it up and it doesnt let me see it?

i get no noise when i attack either, its like i didnt pick it up.

any idea how to fix it?

Check your gamecore folder and make sure the folder named Kravenwolf is in the "guns" folder. By default I think it just extracted to the gamecore folder, thats what happened to me.

For sounds head to the Game Creator's Store and download EAI's free truncheon. Now you need to head into your gamecore/guns/EAI/TRUNCHEON folder and copy all the audio files you see. They will be "fire", "idle", "putaway", and "retrieve.
Once you have those copied move back to the folder marked Kravenwolf (now in your gamecore/guns folder) and open up the file called BAT inside. Now all you need to do is paste the sounds into the folder. Now you should have Kravenwolf's awesome bat up and fully running and complete with sounds!

NOTE: You can get to the Game Creator Store from your FPSC editor. Look at the bottom of the rectangle on the left of the screen where you can get new entities/segments/etc.

I like this so much, it's going in my game...

Here's a set of shader maps and an edited GunSpec for Airmod users. It makes the swing feel a little more natural:
