dentures to come, and some sort of energy orb or fireball to fill it

Remember those old guys? They made epic renders, I think one of them was called DaVinci, and all they used was MS Paint. Sometimes it's just skill....

skulls don't go that far down the back of the neck. it just goes half way and intersects with the spine. it goes as far down as the ear.

thanks i would have never caught that, from other references it seems it ends just about where the roots of the top teeth are, here is an updated shot:

the teeth aren't cubes for those who are wondering, they are extruded triangles (i forget the geometric term for it) with one closed end, meaning 7 tris per tooth. i considered making each row continuous but i can't see how that could reduce polycount.

You modeled it in Softimage? I thought softimage was the autodesk program for animation... Looks like I'm wrong Anyways, it looks good.

Softimage is a company. Their most famous product, XSI, was bought by Autodesk.

Autodesk is a modelling/animation program, which Valve used to make all the models for Half-Life 2 (and all their other Source games, I presume). Yes, that means Left 4 Dead aswell.

Ooh, ok. Then, I presume, games like Metal Gear Solid 4 and Devil May Cry 4 were made with softimage as well? I read an article once on softimage about MGS4 and DMC4 on the soft image website, but recently these articles were removed and I found the MGS4 article on another site. I'm not sure about the modeling, but I know4 they did animating in Softimage. EDIT: Yeah, they were modeled in there too. Here's a pick of "Crying Wolf" and Eva's Motercycle being modeled in Soft Image:
And animating, they have videos on the sight about it. I can post the link for the article if you like, it's pretty interesting . And just as an interesting process, the Metal Gear Solid 4 Online Map, "Blood Bath", was made in Soft Image as well. Here are the pics from the modeling process (in order, the concept map, the corrections, the final modeling stage, collision data, and the final render):

this (there's an emote in the URL so i have to do it in code blocks)

i've also decided that, because this skull was supposed to be in the Funky Stickman game, it wasn't cartoony enough. So i've started drawing my own rotoscopes (instead of using scientific diagrams which aren't cartoony ) and, though needing a few little tweaks, this is the front view:
Edit: update:
