Very nice! Might grab this!

Many games use photos for textures, there is nothing wrong with it.

Nice. I'm liking the different genres of these packs.

However, why is this model pack rated "M"????

FPSC should not be rated like that

Take it up with the ESRB. I guess they're cracking down on everything FPSC related - I'm guessing since you can shoot and kill humans in FPSC. I had to remove the Youtube video for MP22 from the site as well.

Very nice looking pack though, great variety of stuff.

ESRB is an awful rating system. They've made so many mistakes, I've lost all respect for them now. I could rant on for a while about them, but instead I'll stay on-topic.

This pack looks great, I may get this (if I ever get the money)

not if you do it right. Look at Wolf's segments, they are all done with images from cgtextures.

Hi, it’s Robert with Stealthmod! You’ll be saying Stealth every time you use this mod! It’s like CoD! It’s like L4D! It’s like BioShock. A regular mod doesn’t work good – this works good and great.

Looks good to me. (like the last 2)

Quote: "Holy Cow! Another one!!!!!"

No religious discussion here, remember? (So, let's leave the Hindus out of it)

Quote: "Nice. I'm liking the different genres of these packs."

Yeah, reminded me that I had not ordered #32 & #33 yet. (triple pack order)

Quote: "However, why is this model pack rated "M"???? "

Because virtual game items are sometimes confused with reality by protesting fanatics who think they are protecting their children by deceiving them into believing that violence doesn't exist in their world...

Quote: "I think one of the storage tanks is naked!"

Yeah, I clearly saw a nipple on that valve.

Quote: "No, it says that under all of them now.

They're probably doing it in a cover their butt effort.

"

That is what I been saying all along about zombies being the perfect enemy in FPS games.
There is a big difference in shooting mythical creatures vs. humans in general.

If people wanted to have their model packs made official they would contact TGC. They don't so I assume they don't want theirs to be official model packs.

I think this model pack looks good. If you don't like it don't buy it, it really is that simple. Some people, like me, who don't have any modeling skills whatsoever appreciate packs like this and find them useful.

Don't forget you're not limited to buying official model packs, you can use places like Turbosquid etc. to source any models you might need, or you can contact an artist directly and get custom work made.

Of course if you do get custom work done or even use another site which sells models you'll be hard pressed to find any that give you the same amount of models for $20.

Some stuff look a little flat, other then that it looks OK. Unfortunantly I'm a little afraid of Model Packs by Arteria after the 11-15 ones. Not saying that this one IS bad, there's just the chance that there are a little too much polygons or visible backfaces.

I'd like to see that!

You can also skip using Turbosquid, and try places like: the3dstudio.com

In theory it saves time, which can be a main factor for those with multiple projects.
It also saves money because the photos cost less than having an artist create the image from scratch.
It comes down to Point & Click vs. Hours of Painting.
I have no problem with photos for textures.

HI Conjured,

Using photos is not something i do to save time. As preference i prefer the photo realistic look as opposed to hand drawn art. Its an artist's preference as to what they like,as it is the enduser's but i have always enjoyed this look and want to make as photo real as i possibly can. FPSC has limitations as to how these are generally rendered, but they do look good. If these were hand drawn it just wouldnt give the look i want.

As an artist i travel all over the uk, visiting historic towns, and other attractions so i can get the photos i need, of which are used as reference, and also textures too. What surprises me though, is the thought by some that using photos is somehow easy... This is simply not the case.

Firstly the weather must be near perfect when first taking the photo for texture use, with only ambient lighting rather than any additional sunlight. Then, due to the height of most buildings i take, you then have to straighten those out. Ok, photoshop has plugins to do this, but there is a lot of hand processing that goes in, to make the photos totally usable, and then its almost never the case that a striaght photo is used, its always processed, and sometimes many hours go in to make them as i wish.

I value your input by the way, and the general constructivess of most users on the forum.

I hope you enjoy the pack and get some great scenes done using them!

Best wishes

Steve

That is what I said earlier...."It's not as easy as you think".

I tried to use photos and had light and warping problems too. (still looked better than me artwork which for me takes even longer

That is why I said "In theory it saves time..."

Yeah, some artists would be faster at one method than the other and vice versa.
Whatever works for you, right?
They do look good and I cannot tell they are photos from the screenshot.
I need to explore the textures now.

Quote: "I value your input by the way, and the general constructivess of most users on the forum."

Yay!
I knew there had to be at least one of you out there. (my search is over )

Quote: "I hope you enjoy the pack and get some great scenes done using them!"

Yeah, yeah, I never finish any games. (I get it)
I will enjoy it though, guaranteed!
Thanks again, and I look forward to the next one.

Just purchased MP34. Can't wait to start remaking Emergence. I've got some great ideas on how to expand the one level game in to something much bigger.

Thanks for buying it!, hope you enjoy using it

Something else ive finished, is an expansion on the wartorn pack, this time featuring elegant style buildings, but bombed out, plus other assorted buildings. A novel idea i had for this was to scale the building exactly, to accomodate interior segments to be painted within the buildings, of which i have also included with the pack, plus multi height level usage, by the way of steps etc, kinda like the first gears game.

Also something to look forward to is a medieval interior pack, featuring lots of medieval interior segments, and props

BEst wishes

Stevie,

Definitely will want the medieval interior pack! Been waiting for that since I have the other outdoor medieval pack.

The wartorn pack sound like it can be very useable as well as this pack. I don't have any industrial themes so not needing now but this pack looks really good for that. It's cool that Gunn3r is going for it. Looking forward to seeing how that game comes along, Gunn3r.

I agree with you Stevie about phototextures. Well, I dont travel all over to country to find textures, but I always have my camera ready. I think that I have 1300pictures lying on my cellphone, 800 of those are textures or photoreferences

Great work on the modelpack!
