The Saw movies because of their psychological aspect. if you mean slasher movies i'd say The Nightmare on elm street movies even though i've yet to watch all of them, i used to be afraid of Freddy Krugger and Pennywise the clown.........man, i hate clowns

I would have to say the movie that actually "scared" me was the very first Halloween and Friday the 13th. But a movie that made me jump out of my seat a lot would be Cloverfield.

Games are like life, they should never stand still.

Pumpkinhead.

Just a superb atmosphere to it, 'Haggis' is the best witch in any movie, ever .

The only movie ever to scare me was a 2002 movie called "Dog Soldiers". When I say that it "scared me", I mean I actually felt fear. Not the cheesy OMG-that-scary-looking-thing-popped-out-at-me fear. I saw the original The Exorcist when I was, like, 10. I just thought it was gross, not scary.
But yeah, Dog soldiers was a good one.

I have a devious mind.

"The Shining" is an erie classic.
"IT" is creepy as hell. Nothing looks more creepy than Pennywise!

There are more, but those are the two that spring to mind!

Alien. One of very few horror movies I like / found genuinely scary when I first watched it. Not just because of what you see / what happens, but it just gives off an unpleasant 'cold' vibe

I just watched a foreign horror film called Gozu and it was...

The weirdest movie that I have ever seen, why'd I don't want to drink milk that much anymore!

Plus if you thought pennywise was scary wait until you see the old lady from The Shinning.

Im a making a game soon..

Scariest horror movie I watched must be [REC]! NO exceptions! That was freaky! That one camera style and those freaky infected type of people and stuff. That was very freaky! I wonder why ameran people made a remake of it only a year after it came. That doesen't seem so good as teh original. They don't understand the language and whine about, that they need to read text...

But, yes. [REC]! Watch that movie! You have to! You want to! I know it!

The original "Exorcist". I don't like horrors so I hardly watch them, but this one was awesome...

- The Ring (American remake)
- The Shining
- Blair Witch Project
- Juon The Grudge (Japanese original)

I also enjoyed Gin Gwai (The Eye, original HK version).

I've never understood that. Everyone I know says the original Exorcist was SO scary. I just think its gross. eh, whatever. different strokes for different folks or whatever.

I think the exorcist was ground breaking in it's day, and very scary, but if you watch it now as a modern audience, it won't have the same effect. It's like old 70's super cars; amazing in their day, but any old hot hatch can annihilate them now.

Actually the 1970 dodge charger still looks cool in its day but still even though there are old horror movies they still can be scary and cool now a days just as long as your not one of those guys who gets bored and sleeps through the whole thing cause you want a retarded gore film or probably a movie that goes too fast.

Im a making a game soon..

Ichi the Killer, gorey but in a funny way. Makes me laugh and cringe at the same time... Or maybe I just have a sick mind.

Well, there's a difference between the best horror movie and the scariest horror movie.

Scariest: any movie with clowns

Best: EVIL DEAD! No other movie has such a perfect balance of creepiness and cheesiness. It's a classic.

Swordfight! My cheesy little first game!

Very true.

Scariest for me is probably any of the Japanese-derived movies like The Grudge, I heard Korea has some freaky stuff as well.

BEST would be a three-way tie between The Host(assuming monster movies can be lumped into horror), Sick Nurses, and the Grindhouse movies.

Is it wrong if I couldn't control a small chuckle in the "The power of Christ compels you!" scene in The Exorcist?
