I've discovered that when I log in to the new website my browser slows to a crawl. Is anyone else having this problem?

It must be a website specific issue because I've never encountered any other website like this and the old DBP website was fine.

It does seem slower, but not too bad. Its probably the Java on your machine needs updating...

I'm running a PIII with 512 meg ram and Windows XP. I'm stuffed if I can work out what is going wrong.

I've even looked at the MS site. I'm that desperate.

I've noticed it runs slightly sloewr. Must be the graphics (before you all get your css excuses out, there are graphics at the top ^^^).

I hope there site's don't use java, very bad way to design sites that need java to view. OK for things like chart but not OK for viewing.

The site doesn't use java as far as I can tell except for the irc chat thing, I have java turned off. I think TheCodingArea was proberly refering to java script. Try turning that off and see if the site speeds up.

Not just slow, but the whole site is very tempermental. Sometimes the page only loads partly and then says 'document done'. I have to reload some pages a few times before they're they're properly loaded. And some parts of the site won't load at all - but that's to be expected, of course, as this whole site is under construction. Well, as far as I know.

Might be worthing turning off Javascript - I'll try that later.
I did mean Javascript as opposed to Java - mind you, I dont rate either of them much.

Javasript is OK when it's coded properly, ie no errors. Things like the formatting buttons above the message text box really make life easier.

Menus that open as soon as you move your mouse to the back button are not.
