Isn't religion one of the topics that we aren't supposed to be discussing?

As long as you stay grown up and focus on the game here, not the religion, then this thread should be fine.

This thread could be locked though because it's more or less a give me teh models thread. Other than that, I hope it's not locked because of immaturity or flames.

PS: Daniel, I'll be sending you a message soon. Keep your eyes peeled.
PSS: Sent.

Good looking model thus far. One thing you could do is take what you already have in that guy and tweak it a little to create a new character. No need to start over from scratch, reuse work!

MoonRising didn't seem to be very popular, considering I never got any purchases. (allegedly)

As for the current models, they have the same things you got flamed for last time you was here. The faces look stretched and plastered on, the body is completely out of proportion and the head is just... odd.

Its a good day to do what has to be done by me and help my brother to defeat the enemies

@darimc, hello friend, long time no talk to, no im done with doing a store or fourms as it took up all my time. but i do have other ideas that will be fun to do and rewarding.

@ Aaagreen, hello, long time no talk to,

your question

they have the same things you got flamed for last time you was here

well, im sorry you dont like my modleing skills, I think i have gotten way better, thease are only for my game and no one else so your take on my modles wont effect my progress, but i will do one thing, you point out in a very illustrated way on how my modle is not well porportioned in a 3d editor then i will gladly fix it.thanks for the feed back..

Daniel, I tell you the following things as a friend.

1. If you post your work here, prepare to have it critiqued. If you don't want the critique, don't post. We aren't here to blow sunshine up your butt. I didn't catch the last time you were flamed, so I don't know what that's all about. But I'm guessing it might be because of your attitude about your work.

Feedback is an ESSENTIAL part of game development. If your models are repulsive, no one's going to want to play your game. Listen to your peers and take it all in stride. If it's horrible feedback, don't take it personally but take it as a challenge.

Even if you don't care about if people want to play your game or not, the very fact that you posted your work is grounds to have it reviewed. Just know that and expect it.

Polycount is a board thriving with professionals that are currently within the game industry. If you want to get a crash course on accepting critique and sucking it up, then read this thread: http://boards.polycount.net/showthread.php?t=61271. (Warning: Vulgar language)

I think the models are good expesially the texturing. Some problems though are the hand to arm length, and arm lenght to leg length ratios may be a bit wack.

I agree, I had no problem with his critic, he has every right for an opinion, I do listen to peoples critic and dont mind if the points are valid, like he only said there where parts to seem unproportioned, well this is fine but he never stated where the body is out of proportion. so now i was stuck on where it is becouse i dont see it, as far as the arms being to long now i see it. thanks for pointing that out Terrestrial Productions, please tell me what modle though, is it my ganster or my bibble thumper.

I do see i need to fix the texture on the gangsters face a little.

@Sid Sinister, I know, ive been through this already and refuse to play into it. im not here to fight, so ill defintly listen to all my critics.

i find them repulsive. you shouldn't use realistic textures, ever. especially if you don't remove any shine ect from them. the clothes don't fit together. they reflect light differently, you don't have parts of the cloth on right. some areas are what ever that thing around the wrist is it looks like a watch and having it on both sides makes your tuxedo look even worse then it already does. on top of that the most recent pictures the front of the face is darker then the sides which makes it look like a joke.

to be honest when you first made this i though you were joking.

i find them repulsive

i find that comment rude but you have a rite to your opion.

the watch you speak of is his sleaves.

as far as his tuxedo its not a tuxedo its a coat from a suit.

I did fix the sides so there is no streching.

you said

don't have parts of the cloth on right.

where?

you said

on top of that the most recent pictures the front of the face is darker then the sides which makes it look like a joke

here is the texture im using for the face so where is the problem?

Well, if I may speak freely, i really like you models, but there is something with the head, it seems as if they where to small in front vieuw, but in side view they are like perfect. Maybe they are not width enough??

I don't know, but maybe, if you think its a bit wrong to, you might be able to fix it.

Yeah, that look more like it. And are you going to use the jesus guy in you forst post?? If you do, you might want to make the head width a little smaller, for now he looks a bit stretched.

And when your game comes out, I will definatly play it.

Hi daniel, Your models look pretty good. As far as the proportions go, don't drive yourself crazy trying to create the perfect character. Not every human in the world is the same proportionally.

The boxing type character seems fine to me as is. If anything i'd do, I would probably make that last characters thighs a little more beafy, his feet from the side view seem to be a bit small in shoe size so maybe give him slightly bigger feet, the torso also seems a little bulky comparing to the arms and legs. As for the style of your characters vs the textures, this really depends on your game environment as to whether the textures are right for the character or not. If you plan to create your whole world based on photo textures, then I really don't see these textures being much of a problem.

On another note, I do agree that people will often leave bad critisism which is fine and all because it is key to learning. However, If a person is to leave a negative crit, Atleast point out what it is that you think could be change and how. to just say it is unproportioned is not good enough for a person to truely understand what the problem is. And last Atleast these are not weapons as it seems to me that most people here can't seem to get past. So keep up the good work.

@Cong
thank you, ive been working hard

@Isocadia

Well I do need a jesus modle still as I could modle it, and most lickly will but it would be nice not have to modle every single modle in my game.the first guy i showed was my first modle i modled for this game just with a difrent head, i use a dummy head when i make the body, this way he turns out ok before i modle the head.

@tatts

you said

Not every human in the world is the same proportionally

I know,lol, this is what i have been trying to say for a long time know, thanks for that.

you said

The boxing type character seems fine to me as is

you know I still changed his textures around to and know he looks real good. a lot better any how.

thanks for your kind words.
