I am running Vista home premium 64
I installed Visual studio Express 2008
I installed Aug 2009 DirectX SDK
I installed Dark GDK

It could not open dxerr9.h The Aug 2009 SDK does not have that file it has dxerr.h instead so I installed the aug 2007 sdk and made sure I had everything linked in the tools/option/vc++ directories

Now I get 264 errors of the "3dmaths.lib(cVectorC.obj) : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _D3DXVec3TransformNormal@12" variety

they are all 2001 or 2019 linker errors.

What am I missing? I am simply trying to compile the 2d project template.

Thanks

well, did you delete the 2009 version before installing the 2007??
Else I don't know what could be the problem.

Hope this helps.

I switched the libraries from the x64 to the x86 and it seems to work now. Any Idea why the x64 libraries don't work?

Thanks,

I think DarkGDK would have to be built for 64 bit, fairly sure you can't mix and match.

Your processor isn't a 64 Bit processor.
