Today I decided to reinstall a fresh copy of the Dark GDK (August 2009).
The setup has done correctly.
All the compilations through the MS Visual C++ Express Edition are fine. I am not getting errors.
The problem arises when executing the applications: I can't see any 3D output.
I built a "Hello World" project with a spinning cube, I ran the Samples and the tutorials...but nothing!
1. I checked if the media files are in the appropriate folders.
2. I did an update to my GPU drivers (an ATI Radeon X1800 Series)
The issue still remains! Any idea will greatly appreciated!

Thanks

If you are using GDK 7.4, there is another update that you need to download for the 3d renderer to work correctly. The download in the top post is the base library, but it has broken renderers, the download for those is about half a dozen posts below the top one, posted by Mike. It only contains the 2 files for the renderer that you need.

I had thought that the updates would have been consolidated into a single download by now, I can understand how easy it would be to miss the fact that you need the extra download if you dont read the entire thread(and who really does that ? I just skim through myself lol)

If it ain't broke.... DONT FIX IT !!!

Thanks Wilson.
Although you are right about the links, (I didn't noticed the second) I still have no 3D renderings on my screen.

I followed the next steps:
1. I installed the base package (Dark GDK.msi). I ran the samples and I do have 3D renderings.
2. I installed the update package. (DarkGDK Update NOV08.exe) I ran the samples and I do have 3D renderings.
3. I downloaded the 7.4 update from the second link. I placed these files into the appropriate folders. I ran the samples and I don't have 3D renderings.

EDIT:
I did the installation again, ignoring the step 2 but I had no success.

download GDK 7.4 base libraries from the sticky titled DarkGDK 7.4(the top post in that thread) then download the fixed renderers from a few posts down in that same thread. Those are the only 2 packages you should be using.

From your description you are trying to use a mixture of the original, nov08 and 7.4 libraries and they dont work like that. Just unzip the libs from the 7.4 archives and link to them.

If it ain't broke.... DONT FIX IT !!!

Do you mean this link?
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=155716&b=22
and the post of Mike later, down in the same thread:
Quote: "
An updated version is available here:

http://files.thegamecreators.com/DarkGDK/DarkGDK_7.4a.zip

This should solve problems with linker errors. "

If yes, I did what you have suggested but it didn't work

no, the correct second download is a post by mike starting with this(further down from the one you grabbed) :

"New update is attached. This includes a new core and display library."

Read the thread and you will see which is which lol
